"Why are you here?" I asked Joshua, my voice firm but laced with a hint of curiosity, as he stood outside my hotel room door, his eyes gleaming with a mischievous spark.
"They pushed me out of my room," he said, his voice laced with a hint of innocence, as he sneaked inside, his eyes scanning the room with a familiarity that made me uneasy.
I raised an eyebrow, my suspicion piqued. "Who pushed you out?" I asked, my mind racing with the possibility that this was another one of Mark's plans to throw us together.
Joshua leaned against the door frame, his broad shoulders filling the space, his eyes locked on mine with a disarming intensity. "Mark and Rue, they want some alone time," he said, his voice low and husky, sending a shiver down my spine.
I snorted, my eyes rolling in exasperation. "This is another one of Mark's plans to get us together, isn't it?" I accused, my voice firm but laced with a hint of amusement.
Joshua's lips curled into a sly smile, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Are you going to let me in, or should I sleep out in the hallway after paying the bills?" he asked, his voice laced with a hint of mock innocence, as he flashed his credit card with a flourish.
I rolled my eyes, my heart racing with a mix of annoyance and excitement. "You're not going to sleep in the hallway, Joshua," I said, my voice firm but laced with a hint of resignation, as I stepped aside to let him in.
Joshua strode into the room, his long strides eating up the distance, his eyes never leaving mine. I felt a flutter in my chest as he approached me, his presence commanding attention.
"Thanks for your hospitality, Eva," he said, his voice low and smooth, as he dropped his bag on the floor and sank into the armchair, his eyes never leaving mine.
I raised an eyebrow, my arms crossed over my chest. "Don't mention it, Joshua. Make yourself at home," I said, my voice laced with sarcasm, as I tried to ignore the flutter in my chest.
Joshua chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "I intend to," he said, his voice husky, as he stretched out his long legs and leaned back in the chair, his eyes fixed on mine.
I felt a shiver run down my spine as our eyes locked, the air between us crackling with tension. I tried to look away, but my eyes seemed fixed on his, my heart racing with a mix of excitement and annoyance.
"What do you want, Joshua?" I asked, my voice firm, as I tried to break the spell between us.
Joshua's smile grew wider, his eyes glinting with mischief. "I want to talk to you, Eva," he said, his voice low and smooth, as he leaned forward, his eyes fixed on mine.
I raised an eyebrow, my heart racing with anticipation. "What about?" I asked, my voice laced with curiosity, as I tried to ignore the flutter in my chest.
Joshua's eyes seemed to bore into mine, his gaze intense. "About us," he said, his voice low and husky, as he leaned forward, his face inches from mine.
