I woke up feeling something on my waist. I looked aside and saw Eva's hand on my waist. She had snaked her hand around my waist, and I could feel her gentle touch. I looked at her, and she was still fast asleep. I gently removed her hand, but she stirred and opened her eyes.
She looked at me, then realized where her hand was, and quickly pulled it back, apologizing in a whisper. I smiled and whispered back, "It's okay, I didn't mind." We exchanged a glance, and then Eva snuggled closer, her head on my shoulder, and fell asleep again.
I could feel her hesitating, she winced slightly, and I knew her ankle was still hurting. Despite that, she snuggled closer, her face inches from mine. I could feel her warm breath on my skin, and my heart raced with anticipation.
She looked up at me, her eyes locking onto mine, and I knew she was seeking something. I wrapped my arm around her, pulling her closer, and she nestled into my embrace. We lay there together, our bodies entwined, our hearts beating as one.
The next morning, it was a trek day. The morning sunshine streamed in, and I realized Eva was completely snuggled up against me. Her head rested on my chest, and her small hands were wrapped tightly around my body. I could feel her gentle touch, her warmth, and her soft breathing.
She wakes up and winces again, her body tensing against mine. She looks up at me with innocent eyes, her gaze locking onto mine. Her eyes are pools of vulnerability, filled with a deep trust and dependence. I can see the pain and discomfort etched on her face, but also a sense of safety and security.
She knows she's in good hands, and that I'll take care of her at this moment. I smile softly, trying to reassure her, and she smiles back, her eyes never leaving mine.
And then she suddenly pulls away from my side, realizing she was hugging me. Her face flushes bright red as she quickly sits up, her eyes avoiding mine.
She looks embarrassed, but also a little delighted. She tries to play it cool, but I can see the hint of a smile on her lips. I chuckle softly, teasing her about it, and she playfully pushes me, her embarrassment forgotten. We share a lighthearted moment, our connection still strong.
"You must get ready now," she says, yawning and stretching her arms above her head. As she does, her hand accidentally hits me, and she giggles, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Oh, sorry about that!" she says, playfully apologetic.
I laugh and rub my shoulder, pretending it hurt more than it did. "That's okay, I'll survive," I tease, smiling at her. She grins back, and we share a lighthearted moment, the tension between us . "Come on, let's get moving!" she says, already getting out of bed, she winces loudly, "Ouch!" I rushed to her side, concerned etched on my face.
"Hey, slow down! Let me check your ankle." I gently place her leg back on the bed, examining the injury. "You must be careful, you know you got hurt yesterday."
She tries to brush it off, "I'm fine," but I can see the pain in her eyes. I know she's not fine, and I'm not having it. "Don't be stubborn, Eva. You need to rest and recover." I say firmly but gently, trying to reason with her. She looks up at me, her eyes flashing with a mix of frustration and gratitude.
"I am not going anywhere today," I announce, my voice firm is gentle. Her eyes widened in surprise and disappointment, "No! I'm fine, you should go!" She tries to convince me, her voice laced with a mix of determination and concern.
