I watched in despair as Eva stormed out of the bar, the doors swinging shut behind her like a slammed door on our friendship, relationship?? Or enemies with benefits. I felt a surge of guilt and regret, knowing I had to make things right.

Without hesitation, I made my way towards the exit, determined to apologize and mend the damage. But Mark, my friend and voice of reason, intercepted me.

"Whoa, hold up, Joshua," Mark said, his hand on my shoulder. "You'll only mess it up more if you go after her now."

Jeremy joined in, reinforcing Mark's words. "Yeah, Joshua, take a break. If you go to her now, she'll strangle you."

I felt a flash of frustration, but deep down, I knew they were right. I was still reeling from the events of the night and wasn't thinking clearly.

"Let's go home," Mark suggested, already heading towards the car. "We'll regroup and figure out a plan to make things right with Eva."

The drive home was tense and silent, each of us lost in our thoughts. My mind raced with scenarios, wondering how I could fix things with Eva.

As we pulled into the driveway, I felt a sense of dread washing over me. I knew I had to face Eva eventually, but the thought of it filled me with anxiety.

"Hey, Josh," Mark called out as we got out of the car, "let's talk about this in the morning, okay? We'll come up with a plan to make things right."

I nodded, feeling defeated, and trudged towards the front door. I knew I had a long night ahead of me, replaying the events of the party and wondering how I could have handled things differently.

The next morning, I woke up early, feeling restless and anxious. I knew I had to apologize to Eva, but the thought of it filled me with trepidation.

I paced back and forth in my room, trying to gather my thoughts and muster up the courage to face her. Finally, I picked up my phone and sent her a text.

"Hey Eva, can we talk? I need to apologize for what happened at the party."

I waited anxiously for her response, my heart racing with anticipation. But as the hours ticked by, there was only silence from her side.

As I waited for Eva's response, my phone blew up with notifications from my friends. The messages poured in, each one a harsh reminder of my mistakes.

"How can you do that, Josh?" Alex asked, his text laced with disgust.

"You destroyed her birthday, man," Ryan added, his words cutting deep.

"You did worse than that drunk guy in the party," Chris chimed in, his message a stinging rebuke.

I felt a wave of shame wash over me as I scrolled through the messages. My friends, who had never been for me, were now condemning me for my actions.

I knew I had let them down, but more importantly, I had let Eva down. And that realization hurt the most.

The notifications kept coming, each one a reminder of my failure. And I knew I had to face the music, to own up to my mistakes and try to make things right.

"I can't believe you, Josh," Scott message read. "You kiss her? Wow, you really saw your chance." I wasn't the one who made move for the kiss. She leaned in and it was quick and I didn't relized to address her real name. I was focused on the work in front of me. Devouring her, mad for her kiss.
