CHAPTER THREE, the model home
( uneventful )

"Dad, I don't really think that's appropriate-"

"Georgina, I am your father, I think I know what's appropriate and what's not," Callum spoke with a joking tone, his hands on his hips. Gina hadn't slept much that night. After a swift getaway from the party last week, Gina helped Ryan get the drunk Seth into the house before she walked home. The next morning she had slept in past one pm to find out that Ryan had left and come back all in the same day. Turns out his mum didn't appreciate the circumstances which led Ryan to Newport so she left without saying anything.

Since then Callum had taken it upon himself to shop for a bunch of random ingredients, claiming that he was going to cook up a feast and invite the Cohen's around for dinner as it was Ryan's last night before going wherever Sandy could find.

"Dad it's just I think it's better if we don't invite them because it's Ryan's last night and all," Gina explained. Callum nodded, slowly. "Plus we really don't know what to do with all this stuff." She breathed out a laugh as she picked up what looked to be a cucumber. "We haven't had cucumber since-"

"That's a zucchini," Dan corrected as he walked through the kitchen door. Gina frowned as she looked down at the 'zucchini.'

"What's the difference?" Callum asked, leaning on the counter.

"No clue," Dan answered. He moved to sit on the stool that Gina had pulled out previously. Gina threw her hands up in the air dramatically, rolling her eyes at her brother.

"But you know the difference in looks?" Callum asked, his eyebrows furrowing. Dan nodded before reaching over and taking an apple from the plastic shopping bags on the counter. He took a bite and gestured towards the mess of ingredients.

"What's all this for?" he asked.

"I was going to make dinner for the Cohen's," Callum explained. "But your sister doesn't think it's a good idea." Dan swallowed.

"Yeah, no bad idea," he agreed with Gina, making her smirk up at her dad. He rolled his eyes. "I'd leave them alone for a bit, I mean they took in a kid and everything Sandy's done to help him has gone wrong so far. Let them figure it out without the pressure of accommodating guests." Callum nodded.

"Ok," he agreed. "We'll just have to figure out a way to use all of these up before they expire." Gina frowned. She moved forward and pulled out a stool next to Dan, she sat down.

"Well we have about a week before they expire then?" she questioned, her eyes looking over the bags. Callum shook his head.

"Half of this was on sale," he explained. Dan and Gina looked at each other.
