CHAPTER THIRTEEN, the escape
( Marissa )
It was the next day when Callum had driven Gina down to the Cohen's house. He had helped her pack her, small - minuscule compared to Summer's - bag and had taken her down to the beach to pay for a breakfast. Now the two stood inside the Cohen's house, Gina's eyebrows were raised in amusement as Sandy pestered his son. Callum had done his interrogation earlier that morning but was quickly shut down by Daniel as he explained 'She's sixteen, Dad, and has never had a detention, she's around Seth and her boyfriend's coming. I'm pretty sure that she will avoid making a fool out of herself around him.'
Ryan shot a look towards Gina, a smirk pulling at his lips as he, also, found amusement in Sandy's concerns.
"Remember all the numbers?" Sandy asked.
"Yes, Dad, I remember our phone number," Seth rolled his eyes.
"Did you get any water? Huh?" Sandy questioned, listing all the things that Callum had stuffed in Gina's bag, that morning. "Extra batteries? Did you get some air in the tires? Did you put gas in the tank?"
"It's amazing I turned out so normal," Seth breathed, exasperated. Gina laughed as she pulled her handbag over her shoulder and wandered down the steps of the Cohen's house, the sun shining down on her newly brought sunglasses. Summer stood, wearing all pink and matching sunglasses as her close friend.
"Sum!" Gina exclaimed, pulling away from the hug that Callum was trying to force and running down to hug her best friend. She hugged back.
"Georgie! How are you?" she asked, adjusting her sunglasses on her face. A heavy sigh left Gina's lips, she was starting to regret the choice to go to Mexico. Summer nodded, laughing in agreement. "Same."
Summer had been roped into going to Mexico with Gina and the boys because Marissa had shut down any conversation about going with them. Summer had no ride and the only thing stopping her from staying home was Gina's presence.
"Hey! Let me get that-" Seth started as Gina pulled away from Summer. Her bags - yes, multiple bags - littered the driveway of Sandy's house. Seth leant down and attempted to lift only one of her suitcases. A groan left his lips when he failed, the bag hitting the ground. Gina pursed her lips, trying to hold back a laugh.
"Hey, Summer. Sandy Cohen, I'm Seth's dad," Sandy smiled at the girl dressed in pink. He held his hand out for Summer to shake. She did. "I had no idea you were into comic books."
"Comic books?" Summer grimaced. "Ew." Gina hit Summer's shoe with her own, she knew that Summer wouldn't understand her action but maybe, just maybe, it would make Summer Roberts shut up for once.
