CHAPTER FIVE, the model home
( shit... )

Gina grudgingly walked into the model home with a bag full of pillows and blankets in a bag. She never thought that she'd feel so guilty about lying to her brother but here she was, swallowing back her anxieties as she did what she told Dan she knew nothing about.

Ryan had set up a tent in the room that Seth had designated as his bedroom. Seth being Seth, didn't want to help with the building, instead, he was putting golf balls along an indoor practice golf greens. Marissa being the helpful girl she was, was helping Gina unpack Ryan's supplies.

"So you didn't tell them anything?" Ryan asked, curious about how the three fought off the police's questions.

"Um, actually I told them that you went to Mexico for cockfights. You know what though? Even if they don't believe me they'll never look for you here," Seth explained, rather proud of his lie. He frowned when he noticed Marissa pulled out a loofa on a stick. "Did you seriously bring a loofa?"

"What's a loofa?" Ryan questioned his eyebrows furrowing.

"Do you not wash your body, Ryan?" Gina asked. She looked over at the boy with a smile as he stared blankly.

"Hey, you said bring whatever was around the house," Marissa defended, waving the stick around in the air as she spoke.

"But, I meant like, survival supplies like a rope or muskets and not-" Seth lent on his golf club as picked up a bottle of what looked to be a bath cream of some sort. "Kio's cucumber moisturizer." Gina frowned and snatched it from Seth's hand.

"It's Kio's apricot moisturizer," Gina corrected. Seth rolled his eyes.

"Whatever, it's not an essential."

"What about this?" Gina asked as she pulled out a four-pack of toilet paper. Seth nodded as Ryan pointed at the girl.

"That's a pretty good call," Ryan responded.

"That's nice, yeah." Marissa rolled her eyes at the three and reached into a bag nearer to her knee and pulled out a CD. Gina smiled at the girl and stood up, moving to retrieve a golf ball that Seth had put too hard.

"You found it?" Seth asked as he jogged into the next room. Gina nodded.

"Yeah, it's right here," she deadpanned as he turned around, opening her empty hands. Seth rolled his eyes, a smile on his face.

"I'm just so good at golf," Seth chuckled, moving to look for the white ball in the corner of the room. Gina crossed her arms.

"So good that you missed the hole completely and put it into the next room?"

"Hmm," Seth hummed. He lifted his arm, the golf ball in his left palm. "I'm that good." He smirked as he walked out of the room. Gina laughed and followed, close behind.
