Martin was actually pretty cool once you actually got to know him. Pretty talented too! I found out today that he is a blue belt in karate! That'll be useful! And he's also a pretty good artist and gamer. Still an asshole though, but I'm sure in due time he will learn respect.

Shelly randomly started seeming a little worried. After a little bit of fidgeting, she asked us "How much food is left?"

For some reason, I hadn't considered food much of a problem, because there were so many other problems... like zombies. I suddenly panicked because I didn't know. I checked our bags and there was hardly anything left... just an orange and a can of corn, that was it. Where were we even going to get food? We had already been to all the shops, they were all empty!

"Dibs on the orange!" Julie yelled. Jee, thanks, so useful in this dire situation!

"Not our top priority!" I yelled at her without thinking. Julie kind of shrivelled up in shame, then I remembered her situation, and I felt terrible.

"Whatever, it's just food, we can get more and we can last a while without it" Martin said.

"Ok, calm down everyone" Shaun said in a calming voice. "We have no food, but it's going to be Ok, I promise. I know how to spearfish, so I'm sure I could be useful" It was very reassuring to hear this. Shaun was such a nice guy!

"I know this completely goes against my usual cheerfulness, but if worst comes to worst, I don't mind sacrificing myself so you guys can eat". Shelly said, shocking everyone. I had no idea how to react! And she said it so casually too! How can she say so many messed up things in a normal tone!

"W-what are you saying!?" Nick demanded in easily the most shocked voice of all of us.

"I mean I don't mind being eaten," Shelly replied with an unusually stern face. Jeez! The mere thought made me sick to my stomach and want to throw up! Starving would be better than eating a human!

"No! You can't do that!" Shaun responded quickly.

"We ain't fuckin' cannibals!" Julie followed up.

Shelly paused for a moment.

"Ok! My offer is off the table!" She said back in the old, cheery tone. How could she talk about such dark things so casually!?

But then something happened. Something horrible, something we somehow hadn't even considered happening...
