"What shade of blue are we using?" Layla asked. We were standing in the tulle aisle browsing our options waiting for Beck to arrive.

"Probably a midnight blue," I replied. I grabbed a roll of silver tulle off the shelf and turned it over to observe the price. I was quite content after looking at the dollar amount because it wasn't expensive.

Layla walked a few steps down the aisle and grabbed a roll of what appeared to be the correct shade of blue.

"Found it," she stated walking back over to me.

"Great."

We both set our spools inside our little shopping basket ready to search for our next item. As I was viewing the list on my phone I heard footsteps approach me. I briefly turned my head and saw Beck completely wet.

I covered my mouth with my hand to detain my laughter which was difficult to do. I don't have a single clue why seeing him drenched makes me hysterically laugh but for some reason it does.

I cleared my throat. "Hey."

"You think this is funny don't you," he quipped. Layla and I peered at each other as we grinned ear to ear.

"Maybe a little," I chuckled. Layla joined me.

"I'm going to take it that the rain hasn't stopped yet," Layla uttered.

"Nope, just slightly worse."

I clasped my hands together. "Well come on let's finish shopping for decorations."

The three of us strolled throughout the store picking out balloons, little table runners and star centerpieces. Everything was checked off my list except the supplies for the biggest decoration, the moon chandelier.

"So when are we going to start the moon? That piece is probably going to take the longest to complete,' I questioned.

Layla responded, "Well I don't think we're allowed to use the wood shop for it. Mr. Sanders doesn't want any part of the dance."

"Him and me both," Beck mumbled.

I rolled my eyes and playfully slapped his shoulder. I wasn't a fan of his attitude towards prom at all.

"Well where are we supposed to get the plywood from?" I asked worried.

"Um," Beck scratched the back of his head, "if you guys want we can construct it at my house. We already have all the materials for it."

Layla and I glanced at each other with our mouths agape because we were shocked to hear his offering. I didn't think that he would ever step up and take some initiative. Or even want us to come over to his house.

I grinned, "Sure."

"Uh why not," Layla shrugged.

"Cool, I'll let you know when I'm free so we can start."

After double checking that we had everything we needed we decided to go to the register to check out. Surprisingly we managed to stay in budget which was a success to me.

I headed for my Jeep and turned back quickly to see Layla and Beck still chatting. A smile spread across my face at the sight, but my heart felt worried. I wasn't quite sure why.

I started my vehicle and backed out of my parking spot. Gazing back towards the front of the building I noticed that both Beck and Layla left. I turned my radio on and began driving down the road.

A few blocks down I noticed a kid on a skateboard, and had a suspicion who it was. I was attempting to be a nicer person towards him so I decided to do the humane thing. I pulled my Jeep over next to the sidewalk and rolled down my window.
