"How long have you known Kirk Hammett"? Asked the lawyer.

"A few years now." I replied.

"Where did you meet this man"? He asked.

I sighed quietly to myself. Fuck me. They were gonna bring in the factor that I was a low class stripper.

"He came in at my place of work. I was his waitress." I said with least amount of specific details.

"Which is an exotic strip club right"? Asked the lawyer.

"Yes sir." I replied as I saw the jury's mixed expressions.

"Alright. And how old were you"? He asked.

"19 or 20, I believe." I said softly.

"Making Kirk 23." He said.

I nodded.

"And you guys dated shortly after that"? He asked.

"Yes."

"About how many times did you guys break up"? He asked.

I sat back into my seat as I bit my lip. "Once."

"Would you care to tell us this cause of break up"? He asked.

I couldn't. I cant. I looked at Kirk as my heart sunk deep down.

"Conflicting schedules." I said.

"Is that all"? He asked as he approached me, "Because we have some reports of a hospital visit on the date of"-

I cut him off, "I wanted Kirk to be with me here, but as a musician he was always traveling." I paused.

Fuck Dalia, I can't believe you're about to do this.

"So I- I turned to drugs to try to comfort this loneliness I had. And I went to college so I couldn't bring them with me so I had hidden them in Kirks apartment and that was when my younger sister had come into contact with one of them. It was all my fault. And I was so upset with myself that I ended things with Kirk and checked myself into a rehabilitation center." I lied.

The lawyer looked at me infuriated.

I pretended to sniffle, "I'm 389 days clean."

The judge smiled at me, "Congratulations."

Kirk looked at me with a small smirk and mouthed, "Thank you."

He better be thankful! I just told this whole courtroom I was a recovering drug addict.

My hand met my stomach and I rubbed it.

"Is that all"? I asked.

The lawyer nodded as he threw a bunch of papers at his desk.

I walked off of the stand and breathed happily to myself.

"This wraps up today. We will rejoin tomorrow 12 sharp." Said the judge.

Kirk pulled me into the corner and pulled me into a hug. I hugged him back and he looked at me.

"Dalia. I appreciate you so much. Doing that. That was brave." Kirk said.

I smiled softly, "Gotta protect my baby daddy."

He laughed, "Ughh our baby has crazy parents."

I smirked and looked up. I saw James standing alone looking confused. What's wrong with him?

It was as if Kirk had read my mind.

"James has been quiet since he saw Julissa. It's like the first time in years since they'd seen each other." Kirk said.
