Thomas was dozing happily in the shed. He was given the day off for his efforts of doing Percy's jobs as well as his own when some troublesome youths put porridge mix in Percy's water tank. His crew were inside his cab eating some takeout burgers, and reading the papers.
"What a lovely day." sighed Thomas in bliss.
"Agreed. Sure is nice to have a break, running Percy's trains for him was tiring work for us all." said the driver.
"Well... I had it worse." joked Thomas. The fireman and driver rolled their eyes.
"Yes Thomas, you worked the hardest and we're very proud of you." they said.
Thomas smiled cheekily before looking out to the yard. It was slower today, one shunter was around arranging the trains for when they're do out. It was very peaceful, almost makes one forget this world ever had such a thing as a skullgirl, or monstrous parasites. The mood soon changed. He looked around him, he could've sworn he heard laughing.
"What's so funny driver?" Thomas asked.
"I wasn't laughing." his driver answered confused.
The laughing returned, this time they all heard it. It echoed around them, though nothing was there. Thomas looked around frantically trying to find who was it was, but found nothing. It got louder, but soon was drowned by something else. A familiar glitching sound followed by the world flickering around them.
Thomas panicked as did his crew, they leapt to the regulator and opened it wide. Before Thomas could even take one puff he, and his crew were absorbed into the light and vanished without a trace.
??????
With a boom Thomas appeared somewhere dark and damp. Thankfully he was on railway tracks, but to where was know.
"Driver, fireman?" Thomas called.
"We're alright Thomas. Ugh just when we get used to one world, we get thrown against our will into another!" fumed the driver. His voice echoed for a short time. The three observed their surroundings.
Thomas looked around the tunnel uneasy. It looked dirty, rotten down, as if no one had used it in quite some time. He and his crew knew there wasn't anywhere they could go but forward. So pushing down his dread Thomas puffed onward down the tunnel. His crew were concerned.
"All this smoke will eventually fill up the tunnel."
And it did. Smoke filled the tunnel around them, since Thomas was slow to start it covered them in it. His crew had to cover their mouths, and try to see through it. When Thomas finally got up to speed the smoke cleared out the cab, and all became a little more clear.
The tunnel seem to go on for a while, nothing but it's cold walls could be seen for a long time. Eventually they got to a big area; It had platforms, multiple railway lines, and what appeared to be a giant raised area for people. His driver stopped him and looked around.
