Thomas puffed down the streets of the city. Its bright colors and atmosphere intrigued Thomas. He had quickly forgotten to be nervous, he was quite enjoying himself. They passed by a building which was called 'River King'. His driver explained it was more than likely some sort of casino where people gambled all their earnings away.

"Good grief this place must be massive, how will we find our way around?" asked the fireman.

"We'll just ask around here, see if anyone here is kind enough to tell us or give us directions." said the driver

"I don't know, this seems like a sketchy part of town."

"We don't have any other options, unless you want to waste coal and water driving around with no idea where we're going."

The fireman sighed, knowing the driver had a point. While puffing down the street's tramway, they noticed they were getting some odd looks. They were a mix of confusion, bewilderment and fear.

"You'd think they had never seen a steam engine before." said Thomas who was feeling quite judged.

The crew felt uneasy. They rolled down the rails carefully, they weren't happy with the attention they were getting and didn't want any more of it. As they traveled, they noticed a young girl seeming to be talking to herself. They stopped to see what was the matter.

"Samson, you've got to stop doing that

"Samson, you've got to stop doing that. You're drawing to much attention to us!" the girl said to herself.

Suddenly a gruff, masculine voice spoke up.

"Hmph. That creep was asking for it. No one lays a hand on my host." He noticed the two men walking toward them and got into a defensive, spiky position. "No one." he finished. The crews were stunned. Not only did this girl's hair talk, but could transform itself to form blades and spikes. The crew put their hands up.

"Woah easy there" the driver said nervously. "We're not looking for trouble mr.."

"Samson." said the girl. "And I'm Filia, sorry about him we just got into a fight with some creep and he's a bit on edge." she said politely. It was clear she was the nicer and more rational of the two.

"How can we trust them kid. They could be cruising for a bruising." Samson put it, his eyes narrowing on them both.

"We already said we're not looking for trouble. We're lost and we just need to know where the bloody hell we are." the fireman said. Samson and Filia became confused at their question.

"What rock did you crawl out of?" Samson said

"What he was trying to say is that you're in New Meridian." Filia said, trying to make up for Samson's rude question.

The crew now were confused or still. New Meridian? Somehow the answer they were looking for brought up more questions.

"Are we in the United Kingdom?"
