Chapter III (✓)

For the remainder of the week, the trio made sure to keep Bogum and his friends in check just in case anything would happen, which thankfully didn't. Besides, the growing tensions between Seulgi and Bogum- Mainly being one-sided by him.

Even with Sooyoung beginning to encourage Joohyun to steer away from Bogum, now knowing the potential threat he was, he wanted her to stay as safe as possible. But it didn't work due to Bogum constantly persisting and coddling her to get on Joohyun's good side.

By surprise, it had worked and resulted in Seulgi gaining new buddies to walk alongside from class to class due to being fed up with Bogum's constant attempts at making Joohyun swoon (it was embarrassing, really.)

So then the only time the two were able to talk was during class, but it was usually about the class work and subject, not about how they were doing or what they've been up to lately. Even as much as Joohyun wanted to ask, she didn't want to seem like she was prying.

"Did you hear about the party tomorrow?", Joohyun wondered as they finished dressing back into their uniforms with Seulgi buttoning up her collar shirt.

"I did, yes.", Seulgi answered.

"Are you going? It's an open invite.", Joohyun curiously asked and Seulgi glanced at her.

"I was thinking about going, but it depends if my cousins are interested as well. Are you?", Seulgi answered, lying about her reason.

"I plan on going.", Joohyun responded and Seulgi nodded.

"I assume you're going with Bogum then.", Seulgi said and grabbed her book bag from her locker.

"Oh no, I'm going with Soo, Yong, and Yerim.", Joohyun quickly clarified and Seulgi nodded.

"I'm sorry, I thought you two would be going together since he's always around.", Seulgi apologized.

"Don't worry, I've been asked similar questions about us recently, but we're not dating.", Joohyun assured and the taller hummed.

"Not dating yet? Or..?", Seulgi curiously trailed off.

"I can't bring myself to reject him, again at least. Just in a way that he'll take no as an answer for once.", Joohyun admitted and Seulgi raised her eyebrows in surprise.

"Stand straight and be as firm as you can. I'm sure he can take it. He's a big boy after all.", Seulgi replied, throwing in a joke to ease the mood as the older nodded.

"If only it were that easy.", Joohyun mumbled and finished zipping up her skirt as Seulgi looked around and noticed that almost every girl was out of the locker room.

"Where are your friends?", Seulgi curiously asked.

"Yongsun had plans with her mom after school and Sooyoung was going to help her Yerim with her homework.", Joohyun answered and grabbed her bag before closing her locker.

"What about your cousins?", Joohyun wondered.

"Probably headed home since they're tired.", Seulgi said and Joohyun nodded.
