Chapter XIX (✓)

Sooyoung noticed Seulgi standing still in the midst of the battle, her eyes fixed on something ahead. She followed Seulgi's line of sight and her heart sank when she saw Seungwan on the ground, two stakes lodged in her abdomen and struggling to fend off another stake aimed at her chest. If that stake landed, it would be the end for Seungwan.

An intense rage ignited within Sooyoung. She screamed, channeling all the energy she could muster. Her body began to float, her eyes glowing with a fierce white light. Blood dripped from her nose as she chanted a powerful spell.

The two werewolves attacking Seungwan were lifted off their feet, suspended in mid-air. Terror filled their eyes as they realized what was happening. Sooyoung, consumed by her rage and determination, lifted them higher, her chant growing louder and more powerful. With a final, echoing cry, she ripped their heads off, their bodies dropping lifelessly to the ground.

Everyone on the battlefield paused, stunned by the display of raw power. Taking advantage of the moment, Seulgi sprinted toward Seungwan. She scooped her friend into her arms, cradling her carefully.

"I've got you, Seungwan. Hang on.", Seulgi whispered, her voice trembling with emotion and Seungwan moaned weakly, her eyes fluttering open.

"Seulgi.. thank you.", Seungwan whispered, her voice barely audible.

Meanwhile, Sooyoung slowly descended back to the ground. She landed softly, panting as she looked down at her hands, still trembling from the power she had channeled. The blood from her nose trickled down her lips, a stark reminder of the toll it had taken on her.

Sooyoung's eyes met Seulgi's, who nodded in silent gratitude. Then, Seulgi turned her attention back to Seungwan, focusing on getting her to safety. The others, momentarily shaken by the display of Sooyoung's power, quickly regained their senses and resumed their defense against Bogum and his remaining friends.

As the battle raged on, Sooyoung took a moment to steady herself. She had never channeled such immense power before, and the realization of what she was capable of left her both awed and terrified.

Noticing the disbelief in Sooyoung's face, Krystal and Yeri rushed to the taller's side, their faces pale but determined.

"Are you okay?", Krystal asked, her voice tight with concern as she held Sooyoung's shoulder and she nodded slowly.

"I think so.", Sooyoung said, her voice shaky before glancing at Seungwan who was on the ground groaning in pain from the two stakes in her as Seulgi warns her that she'd pull them out at the same time.

"One.. two.. thr—", Seulgi stopped as she pulled them both out and Seungwan's scream resonated loudly as she held her abdomen with the mono-lidded girl apologizing.

"Stay with her. I'll get Moonbyul.", Seulgi commanded, her voice unwavering despite the chaos surrounding them.

Without waiting for a response, Seulgi sprinted back into the fray. The sight of Moonbyul's unconscious body, crumpled and vulnerable, spurred her on. Her muscles burned with exertion, but she didn't hesitate.

She fought through the remaining werewolves, her movements a blur of lethal efficiency. She ripped off heads and tore out hearts, her rage and desperation giving her strength.
