Who would have thought that after their first awkward encounter would lead them into becoming such real good friends?

Michelle has told her one time during one of their lunches that they've wasted a whole week of not meeting each other. Not because they were avoiding each other, but having such a tight schedule and a long list of things to be done, it just didn't happen.

Ever since that day, the two have become close to the hip. Don't get her wrong, Miss Laos is a good great hotel roommate but Michelle is just special.

No one at the pageantry has made her laugh so hard than Michelle. Her wicked sense of humour that only she could understand, their exchange of stories on how they see the world and how to at least make it better, or when it's down time and they've nothing else to do but goof around, those were Anntonia's favourite.

The other girls must have noticed it too, that they've gone much closer as the competition is nearing its end. And when she comes to think of it, Ann knows all the things she's going to miss all of those moments are with Michelle in it.

How Michelle encourages her as she does the same. When they tease each other to no-end, those were the fun times. Because with her, it was just so easy. She did not need to pretend that everything was okay all the time.

"So."

Michelle started as they sat side by side, waiting for yet another event as part of the competition to start.

"So?" Anntonia countered, looking at her expectantly.

"I've been following you on Instagram since forever. When do I get a follow back?" Asked Michelle, raising an eyebrow. She's teasing again.

A smirk appeared on her lips.

"Do I have to? And see you posting about your special someone and be forced to like it?"

That statement caught Michelle off guard. She had seen it. Anntonia has a boyfriend and they seem very much in love, but damn it all to hell, since when did they start this flirting thing?

"Says the girl, who has a man waiting for her back home. I don't even have a special someone."

Now, Michelle was looking at her intently, waiting for her yet another banter.

"You're kidding. You? How does a woman this hot don't have anyone waiting for her back home? No boyfriend or girlfriend- sorry, I didn't mean to-"

The short-haired woman shakes her head. Already understanding what Ann's apologising for. It wasn't a secret that she's had a fair amount of girlfriends before when she was younger.

"It's okay, you don't have to apologise, love. But to answer your question, beautiful, no one's waiting for me back home. Well, there's this someone, but-"

Anntonia couldn't take her eyes away, eager to know who's this person Michelle's pertaining to. Her breath hitched when the girl leaned it closer, feeling her warm breath as it tickled her ear, sending a shiver to her spine.

"My best friend, Rhian. And,"

Ann swallowed thickly. If anyone could see their current positions, one might think that it's almost inappropriate, not when Michelle's hand reached for her hand whilst her face was still leaning closer.

"Hmm?"

She could only hum in response. Fuck.

"Thank you for saying I'm hot, darling." Michelle whispers, her lips almost touching Ann's earlobe.

One minute they're being cozy, invading each other's space, until she can't feel her warmth anymore. Already feeling cold when Michelle goes back to her previous sitting position.
