Few more days. That's what she kept telling herself. A countdown every day that passes where her girlfriend wasn't with her. It should've been easy because that's their normal set-up. She guessed it might be because she was getting used to having Anntonia around. The effort she made flew all the way to Indonesia for a day just to be with her.
So, right now it's only a few days left, and she's missing her so much.
And while she waits for the day that Anntonia comes home to her, and with nothing else to do, Michelle went to hangout at Rhian's room.
"You've been sighing and groaning ever since you came in an hour ago. This is not the welcome home vibe I was expecting." Rhian complained, who just got home from a long day of shooting.
"Sorry, just that I miss her." She replied, how their conversations flowed freely about Anntonia. "It just makes me anxious. Do you know I have the urge to go to Thailand and pick her up?"
"Just be patient, will you? Didn't she say she's gonna be here before Christmas eve? And that's tomorrow. So, stop whining. Or are you worried about introducing her to us?"
Michelle scoffed. "More like I'm worried about introducing you to her." She joked, then got hit by a pillow.
"I'm just worried that something's going to happen. Well, with our situation right now, keeping things private and low-key, and I'm still frustrated that I wasn't by her side when something happens like that. But we're okay. I don't worry about those fuckers that much anymore. We're very happy."
Tapping her best friend's arm, "she's going to be fine, wifey. Anntonia will come home to you the same. Just like your secret rendezvous in Indonesia." Rhian teased, smirking at her. "Trust me, so don't worry, okay?"
Rhian is right. Despite what their managers had wanted them to do, Michelle had noticed nothing different with her girlfriend every time they spoke on the phone. In fact, the last time they talked, Ann was excited to meet everyone in her family and friends personally.
"So," Rhian trailed off.
Raising an eyebrow at her closest friend, "so?" Amused by the glint on the girl's eyes, a cheshire grin appeared on her lips.
"Any plans on how you're going to spend the holiday with her? Did you go shopping for presents already?"
Ah, of course, she should think of things they could do while she's here, shouldn't she? And her presents, she hasn't got any Christmas presents for her. Dammit.
Michelle smiled, and it seemed like everyone expected that Ann's stay here would be memorable, not only with her but also with everyone in Michelle's life that she's going to meet.
"We can't go anywhere yet, because she needs to go back to Bangkok right away. But I'll do it. I'll plan something for us, a short vacation maybe? Just the two of us. And I'll do some last-minute shopping tomorrow. She's not probably arriving until the 24th anyway, at least that's what she told me." She raised an eyebrow at her friend.
"Is that enough information you wanted to get from me so you could tell my mum and the girls?"
A very much satisfied grin appeared on her friend's lips.
"Very good. You better do it right away before Anntonia hits her head and changes her mind about being with you, because you didn't get her anything. And because God knows how much of a pain in the ass you are," Rhian teased further.
That struck a nerve and Michelle almost winced, still a little afraid and insecure whenever she's reminded of how fragile their relationship still was. Technically free from Irfan, but not really. And it still makes her angry whenever she thinks about it.
