Mayor

It's voting season and Favela is having politicians coming over to give out money or gifts like soaps, detergents, breads, rice or canned goods. Hmm...it's really hard to think that votes are really paid and not earned through honesty, good profile and goodness. For most of our leaders are indeed corrupt, greedy, get to be known through publicity and social media. Then, when the citizens have voted the politician they would claim their fame and gains from people's taxes and government funds. Too bad, that's how politics have been running and going, not only here but in the world.

I thought we can have clean and honest elections but often than not, violence and rage have enslaved Favela because of their corrupt elects. Yet, I hope this will change that I heard Fonsi will run for mayor in this part of town. Mayor, huh?, aahhh....that's going to be difficult and like starting war against the Briggs family who have been leading and controlling Favela in the past 40 years. Four decades is enough to die a town's confidence and eagerness to elect someone new. They are used to corruption and poverty that it doesn't matter anymore if they live or die of hunger or hope for a savior to help them or an absolution to come to take them out of their current state, misery and no opportunities for growth or success in life. But there is hope, there is a future if we elect a good, selfless and kindhearted leader. Someone who would choose to be righteous and use the government's money or people's taxes for the betterment and welfare of the citizens. Still, Favela is so smudged on mud and dirt that it will take a strong, persistent and unaffected leader to save them, us from the rotten system that had been eating Favela, the country and the world.

My God, what did Kyle think running against the Colonel? Kyle is so stubborn and proud that he thinks he can win over the most feared and powerful Briggs Political Dynasty. Haaa..., Beatrice thought and just watched how come elected representatives give out stuff in envelops and rice or canned foods to the people who are now maybe about 100 or so in front of our gates. Haaa..., I'm so stupid! Why did I kiss Kyle, grrr.....that's not what suppose to happen? What now? I hope he'll just forget about it or me! Maybe it'll pass and he will certainly leave the matter and move on! Yup I'm sure of it!

Whaaa....why did that masked hero kissed me? I believe that she is a woman and why would she save me and all of a sudden kiss me?, Kyle/Commander Fonsi thought and touched his lips with sudden urge to know who the masked hero is.

Haa...now that elections are up, I don't know if I would be able to let Banes go to just check on that masked woman or those Shadow Sisters group who have been helping Favela and most of Brazil's towns.

Economies in Asia have been booming since the emergence of BPO or call center industries. I have worked with several accounts so I know it helped many Filipinos and the countries that paid Asians to work for them, full time or part-time.

Philippine's money and economy boosted up that not even other nations were able to outwit or control them.

It must have been nice to see my Filipino people succeed and get rich for a change. I too have built my own home, resort and foundation to help the poor and uneducated youth in my town. Having my daughter go to a good school and securing her own future, was the best thing that I have done for myself, my family, my country and the world.

I wrote books of what I have experienced in Favela and becoming one of the Shadow Sisters has helped me to build a self that is far from the normal but fulfilling, magical and awesome to me when I get to think about the heroic things I have done with my sisters.

Haaa.....what else? Yes, that night when Colonel Briggs found out that Commander Fonsi filed his application to run for mayor. He didn't flinch but took his 45 caliber and released the safety pin then ran to his front porch and shot everything that he sees including the flowers and plants Mitch replanted a couple of days ago.

What are you doing, Bri? Are you crazy?, Mitch running downstairs with their two year old baby girl in hand who is crying now due to the noise heard a while ago.

Those are my favorite flowers, poor Daffodils?, Mitch shouting and getting hysterical now.

You're more concerned about the flowers, haha...hahahahahaah? You bitch, didn't you know that Fonsi ran for office today and now we are screwed!, Briggs said scratching his hair with his gun.

Stop that and fix yourself! So what? It's good and I hope it'll bring hope and prosperity for Favela!. It's a change I want to see for my daughter to experience, a moment or maybe years of peace and harmony. Have you not gotten tired of the war and poverty eating this town? Huh, Briggs?, Mitch, ordering her maids to clean the mess in the porch and gave baby Angel with the sitter. She then walked to the kitchen to fix Briggs a cup of coffee to loosen his nerves and calm him down.

Ahhh, maybe you're right! Well, sorry about your plants. I'll just order for new ones!, Briggs said and kissed Mitch on the lips.

Mina and Zelda have been best of friends ever since they can remember. Mina was once a skinny asthmatic girl and Zelda was the stronger type of lass who protects Mina at all times. Mina would be bullied and were called names in school and Zelda in turn hustles and punches every boy or girl who did this to her precious friend, not knowing that that would be their last time to call Mina those awful names.

Mina always prayed and sulk whenever she thought of the things the bullies did to her, so bad that she one time decided to end everything. She tried to slit her wrist but Zelda knew what she was thinking that she would eventually stop her friend from making the biggest mistake in her entire life.
