Ahhh....Beca!, Paula whispered and while the fireworks faded, her smile started to fade, and became serious, still holding my cheek. I love you, I have always loved you!

I love you too! And will always love you..., I whispered and tears flowed from my eyes maybe from joy and hurt at the same time. Because where will go from here. I don't know and I don't want to know. I just want Paula to be with me always but I think as a sister at a community, I have learned that that is always a wishful thinking, since we can get transferred to other communities all through-out the world. And this is what I didn't know then and no one can be prepared of losing the one you love most. Paula needed to go home since her dad is very sick. She promised me that she'll come back but years went by and Kyle asked me out again thus we got married this spring of 2010.

I have never heard from Paula again after that. I have a daughter now and she is twelve. Kyle and I got separated but we are still friends where we get to see each other once and a while when our kid wants to be with him.

Beca, we are ready for you!, a woman called me to get to the podium while the media is surrounding it since I needed to speak about something and this time it's about the global climate change.

Thank you Aida!, I added and by the way I am a Senator now. I never wanted to be a politician but though I am already in my forties I still wanted to serve my country and Favela has taught me so much that I will carry, teach and inspire me forever!

After my talk about the emerging forest fires and rainforests destructions, I received a call from my cell phone. Hello! Yes this is she? Paula?, huh Paula....it's so nice to hear from you! Where? Okay, got yah, see you later then!

I am a Senator in Brazil now and though I wanted to be a politician in my own country, there have been conflicting issues about my candidacy so I didn't want to have problems with our reigning president. Maybe I will work on that, next elections. Anyway, I want to see Paula and I really missed her that I could kiss her...but what I saw shook me.

Paula is still beautiful but she looked tired, sickly and sad?

Paula, how have you been, I said when I hugged her by the time I saw her at the diner we always went to when we were at the community. Nana's diner who is now being managed by Jena, Greta's sister. And she has two kids now with her husband acting as head chef in the place. It's so exciting to meet my sisters and friends most especially, Paula.

Paula smiled faintly and told me that after taking care of her dad, he passed away and left her debt after debts. She tried to save the company but she's not really cut out to be a business owner and was forced to sell her father's shares along with hers why she lost everything including her dad. Her mom didn't bother to help her out and went with a millionaire who was her dad's best friend at the time. Paula shrugged and breathed heavily while sipping her juice. I told her that everything's going to be okay and I will help her out.

I missed her and yes I invited her to stay at my place to live with me. My daughter is happy to meet my best friend and she welcomed Paula with open arms. I have told her numerous stories about the community and Paula that my daughter knew about everything there and the people I was with and it's okay with her. She is so excited to meet Paula that she fixed the guests room next to mine. Ahh...my dear baby Selena, she is no longer a kid but a beautiful and caring grown-up, I love her so much!

Okay, where was I? Yes, Paula, ahm...I am really happy to see her and talk to her but since she has a jet lag I wanted her to rest more and scheduled to chat with her soon. I advised Bertha to care for my Paula so that her stay here would be cozy and that I also called Dr. Manuel to check on my beloved friend so I could sleep well without worrying about her health or safety.

After two months of rest, exercise and care from yours truly, plus Dr. Manuel's advice Paula regained weight and now looking prettier than before and can smile at me without worry or a heavy heart.

OMG! She is so hot that.....ahhh!!!, Beca thought and when Paula caught her looking. The embarrassed woman blushed. Her face now is so red that she looked away and bit her finger that made me more excited remembering the time when we held hands that night at Favela. Those memories came flooding in that I can still taste Paula's mouth and her .....ahhh

Senator? Ah, ma'am, a call from the president!, Bertha called out and when I didn't respond the elder lady needed to poke me with her shoulder so as not to look at my dear Paula like I wanted to eat her or maybe I really missed her that's why I looked weird and scary now, hihi!

While watching television, Paula hid her smile and now blushing since I have been looking at her and not blinking but when the news came up about the war in Syria, then, Ukraine and Russia, followed by Israel and Palestine, we really stopped joking around and made serious faces on how the world have been crazy these days. Starting from Covid to the wars some countries have been experiencing in the present time.

I just kept quiet and though Paula wanted to talk or maybe ask me about some thing, I turned a blind eye and sadly turned my gaze to the window where I saw my co-senatorial delegates being welcomed by Bertha. I didn't see her leave the room but I kissed Paula on the forehead and told her that I will have a chit chat with them for a bit. I will come right up later to join her for dinner.
