A few hours later at the mansion, Christine wakes up and finds Erik at the edge of the bed, looking out the window. Christine crawls towards and wraps her arms around him. She then asks, "Erik what is it?"

"Nothing I was just thinking," Erik sighs.

"About what?" Christine asked.

Erik turns around and sighs. "Well, of everything that has happened. Ever since the night, I pulled you down below where I live."

"Why?"

Erik looks away and whispers, "I don't know." Christine sighs as she sees a look in his eyes. "Everything is going to be ok," she says softly. "We don't need to think about the past."

"I know," Erik replies. "But, I wonder what would have happened if I did, didn't happen."

"What do you mean?" Christine asks. They then look into each other's eyes; Christine can tell that what he's done has made him feel guilty. Erik sighs and replies, "Christine, what if I didn't take you down below? What if I didn't get angry at you for seeing my face? What would have happened, if I didn't take my anger on the people that didn't deserve to die? Should I have taken you anyway when I told you to choose between Raoul and me? If I didn't let you go –"

Erik stops as he gets emotional and begins to cry. Christine gently places her hand on his face and has him face her. "Erik, you don't need to think like that," she said with comfort. "You chose to do those things, and I know you regret it."

"I know, but I only did what I did because I was jealous," Erik adds. "I still am jealous of Raoul."

"I know you were. Raoul is jealous of you too. Only because he doesn't understand how music has changed my life," Christine interrupted. "Erik, it doesn't matter what Raoul looks like and what he has. He maybe has everything that a woman could ever want, but you have given me something that Raoul doesn't understand. You became my friend. You helped me follow my dream, and you taught me what others don't understand. I love you for who you are. You are honest with me and have always been there for me when I needed you. As I will always be there for you and be honest with you."

Erik looks down, places his hand on top of her other hand, then looks back up and says, "Thank you, I needed to hear that." She smiles at him, then leans towards him and kisses him. As she kisses him, he pushes her back then pulls her down and they make love.

At that same time, Eliza is passing by and overhears Christine and Erik having sex. She is a little confused as she sees a mask outside Christine's bedroom. Eliza decides that it would be best for her not to disturb them, and quietly leaves the room.

A few hours later, Christine is deep sleep and cozy in her bed. As for Erik, he quietly and gently sits next to her and says, "Goodnight, my darling." He then kisses her forehead, then slowly and softly gets off the bed. Erik then grabs his mask and quietly leaves the bedroom.

The following morning, Christine wakes up, however, finds that Erik has disappeared. This makes her sad, but she is not surprised that Erik would leave in the middle of the night. So she decides to get out of the bed and put on her clothes and get ready for another day. A few minutes later, Eliza knocks on the door and says, "Good morning, Miss Daae. I brought your breakfast."

"Oh thank you so much," Christine replies. Eliza closes the bedroom door and walks inside. As Eliza walks towards her, Christine notices that there's a look on Eliza's face as she puts down the tray. Christine turns to face her and asks, "Is everything alright?"

"Yes, I just have a question," Eliza replied.

"What is it?" Christine responds.

Eliza sits down, sighs and asks, "It all true? About the Phantom of the Opera?"

"Yes, why?" Christine asks.

"Well, the only reason why I am asking is that I was wondering if he was here last night," Eliza replies. "And I found a mask on the coffee table last night." In the back of Christine's mind, she thinks that Erik's in danger. "Christine. Was he here?"

"Yes, but please don't tell," Christine pleads.

"Christine, I know everything, and I have been told all about the story. Your love between the Phantom and your fiancé, and I think you're doing the right thing," Eliza implies.

Confused by what Eliza implying, Christine stutters, "Really?"

"Yes," she replied. "because I've noticed how lonely you've been and I heard what Monsieur DeChangy did to you. You deserve better. I promise I will not tell anyone."

Christine leans over, takes Eliza's hand and says, "I trust you. Reason why is because I can see that there is goodness in you and that you are honest."

"Thank you," says Eliza. They smile and laugh at each other. "Is there anything else you need? Or would like?"

"No you may go," Christine replied. Eliza smiles, stands up and heads to the door. "Wait, tell me your name?"

"My name is Eliza."

"Beautiful name."

They smile at each other as they realize that they are going to get along.

Later that night in Christine's bedroom. Christine and Erik are lying in bed, half-asleep. As Christine twists one of the rings that on her finger, Erik notices. "Christine? What is it?" He asks.

"Nothing. It's just I'm so thankful that I have you in my life," Christine replied.

"So am I. I don't know what I would do without you. You mean the world to me," Erik whispered. Christine turns around and faces Erik as he continues to hold her in his arms. "I love being with you, Christine, and I can't imagine being anywhere else but be beside you."

"Me too."

Erik leans towards her, kisses her, then they fall asleep.
