A few days later, at the cemetery. Raoul's closest friends arrive to support the family. Raoul's and Christine's families support Raoul's father, Ralph, and Christine. Throughout the service, Christine has flashbacks of her love for Raoul. Ralph has flashbacks of him and his son as he was growing up until the day he was an adult. Erik notices Christine crying, and he holds her around his arms. After the ceremony, Christine and Erik walk toward Ralph and Emily. However, Christine stops Erik and asks, "Erik, could you wait for me at the carriage? Please, I want to talk to Monsieur DeChangy alone."
"Of course," Erik replied. He kisses her on the forehead. "I'll let the driver know." Erik leaves.
Ralph notices Christine waiting for him. He then turns and requests, "Emily, why don't you head to the carriage? I'll be there shortly."
"Alright, darling," she replied. Emily leaves.
Christine and Ralph stand face to face. Softly Christine says, "Hello."
"Hello," says Ralph. They hug.
"I'm so sorry."
"Thank you. And I'm sorry, Christine. He meant so much to the both of us."
"Yes, he did."
They let go of the hug. Ralph notices a maze not too far away, and he gestures, "Walk with me."
A minute later, in the maze, they are walking together. "So what happens now?" Asks Christine.
"Well, Emily and I will be going back home with Rose. And we'll be going through all of our son's belongings, giving them away to the poor and selling half of them to an auction."
"What about the mansion?"
"I don't know yet, but I was thinking of letting you and Erik keep it."
"Oh, no, I couldn't!"
"I insist. And I think that's what my son would want me to do."
Christine smiles and hugs him. "Thank you," she whispers. They let go once again before saying goodbye once more; Christine places her hand on Ralph's cheek as a gesture of kindness. "Bye." Christine walks away.
Ralph says, "Goodbye, Christine." He watches as Christine reunites with Erik. "May God bless you, Erik, and your children."
A few minutes later, at the house. Eliza had put the twins back to bed. However, she notices that Charles is in the Library. She enters and says, "Charles, I didn't know you were still here."
"I didn't want to leave you here alone," Charles replied.
"Ah well, that's sweet of you."
"Eliza, do you believe in love at first sight?"
"Yes, I do. Do you?"
"Yes. Eliza, I know we met just a few times. But I honestly feel like I've known you more than that. Eliza, I'm in love with you. I love you. You're always on my mind, and I just can't help but believe that maybe we were meant to be together."
"Oh, Charles, I'm in love with you too."
They smile and kiss. At the same time, Erik and Christine open the door and walk in. Erik takes Christine's coat and asks her, "Christine. Are you ok?"
"Yes, I'm fine," she replied. "Erik, there's something I need to tell you. Erik, Ralph is -"
A servant sees her and interrupts her, "Excuse me, Miss Daae. I was told to give you this before he left."
Christine looks at the letter and recognizes the signature. "Raoul."
Erik looks at the servant and asks, "When did he give this to you?"
"Before he left that night," the servant replied.
"You didn't ask him why?! You didn't think that maybe to give this to her as soon as you saw that something was wrong?!"
"Erik, it's alright," says Christine as she stares at the envelope. Erik is confused about why she stops him but decides not to argue with her. "Thank you." The servant leaves. Christine opens the letter and reads the letter. "My dearest Christine."
"Little Lotte, I beg you forgive me. Little Lotte, ah what fools we once were." - Raoul
"Long ago in our youth." - Christine and Raoul
"In Paris, at the Opera." - Christine
"Romantic idiots." - Raoul
"Those two people are gone." - Christine
"I know I have not been there for you when you needed me the most. But, after I saw you name your children, I realized I've wronged you and should have listened to you. Your love for him has always been there. I have been living in a dream, not wanting to accept that I must let go and move on. Even though I wished our love to continue, I know that I have to let you go. I can't live like this anymore. I know God has given me numerous chances to change my life and not relive the past, but I've done nothing but want the past to remain in the present."
"Now I must go; our choices are made. The opera is done, the last notes have been played." - Christine and Raoul
"May your Angel of Music watch over you now. And give you what I wish I'd given you somehow. And may God have mercy on my soul. Your's in regret."
"Raoul," Christine sighs as She looks at the ground.
Erik gently places his hands on her shoulders and says, "I'm so sorry, darling. I know how much he meant to you."
"I know. But Erik, I'm free. He let me go."
"I don't understand."
Christine gives him the letter; he reads the letter. His eyes widen at what Christine is implying.
"Erik, we can stay in Paris and live in the mansion," says Christine.
"What?" Erik shocked.
"That's what I was trying to tell you. Monsieur DeChangy is giving us the mansion."
"Really?"
"Yes. What do you say, Erik?"
"Anywhere you go, I'll go too."
Christine smiles. Erik leans in and kisses her.
