Fifteen minutes later, in Erik's lair, Erik is crying as he throws his coat to his chair; and thinks of what he just saw at the mansion. "I can't believe it! Why would she do this to me?" Erik said out loud. He slowly turns to his desk and looks at the music he has been composing for Christine for months. Furious and in pain, Erik then pushes the music sheets, feathers, ink, everything on the desk away and forcefully makes it fall to the ground. He puts his hands on the desk and cries out, "I trusted her!" He then slams his desk and leans down on top of the desk as he continues to cry. "I loved her!"

Fifteen minutes before that, Christine has her bags put in the parlor. Then Christine heads to the front door. As she heads to the door and grabs her coat, Ralph approaches her, and asks, "Christine, are you alright? Where are you going?"

Christine turns as she puts her handle on the door and replies, "I have to see Erik; tell him what happened."

"But are you alright?"

"Yes, I'm fine. I'll be back to get my belongings after I see talk to Erik."

"Okay," said Ralph.

Christine opens the door, puts on her coat, and steps outside. Once outside, she gets on her horse that she asked for and leaves the mansion. As she leaves the estate, she goes through the forest, just in case Raoul doesn't try to follow her.

Fifteen minutes later, Erik is going through his belongings and finding anything that reminds him of Christine. Once he does, he either rips papers or costumes that he once made for her into shreds. Erik takes down paintings and steps on them. As he does this, Christine hears the sound of Erik's groans and wonders with concern about what is going on. "What is that sound?" she thinks to herself. Once she reaches his domain, she sees that Erik has been destroying his creative art, music, and now anything that comforts him. Once he gets to a mirror, he takes a candlestick, hits several of his mirrors and prepares to hit the last one until Christine yells out,

"Oh, my God! Erik! Erik!"

Erik stops as he hears Christine calls his name. Then slowly turns around and as he does this. Christine sees that he has been crying. "Are you okay?" she asks. Even though Erik is heartbroken, and emotional to see that Christine came to see him, Erik quickly turns around and says, "Go away, Christine. I don't want to see you."

Christine blinks several times, then says, "What?"

"I said, go away!" Erik shouts once more. "Get out

Christine continues to stare at him as he heads to his bedroom. Once he disappears, she follows him. In his room, Erik is sitting on the floor with his music box singing along with it as well as crying. When the music box stops, Erik looks up and sees that Christine is standing a few feet away from him. "Erik. Please talk to me. I need to tell you something," said Christine. She pauses for a moment, then gently and slowly walks to the side.

"I did it. The engagement between Raoul and I is over. I told him that I don't love him anymore and that I'm leaving him." She looks down at him then takes a few steps towards him. "Erik, we can finally be together. Just like we wanted." Christine notices that a look in his eyes of longing but resisting to say anything to her. "Erik. Please," she pleads to Erik as she kneels to him. "Come away with me. Let's leave everything behind while we still can."

They look deep into each other's eyes. Christine then leans in and kisses him, however, a few seconds after she kisses him, Erik pushes her off of him, stands up and walks a few feet away from her. When he does this, Christine looks at him with concern and is confused about what has gotten into him. "No! Christine, I can't do this anymore!" Erik shouts but doesn't look at her.

"Can't do what anymore?! I don't understand," she asks.

"I cannot love you!" he replies as he turns and faces her.

Christine is confused as she sees a look of hatred in his eyes. The look that she saw the day that she pulled off his mask. "You don't mean that," she stuttered.

"But I do Christine," he responded. "I should have known a long time ago. But I was so blind, to think that you would actually still love me."

"But I do love you, Erik. With all of my heart and should I do."

"Damn you!" Erik shouts. Christine silently breathes heavily as she stands up. "I can't take it anymore! You're marrying the boy, and I can't be your second lover!"

"No! Erik! I'm not marrying him! I ended the engagement. Why won't you believe me?

"I don't know. Maybe because I sense that you are possibly lying to me."

"What are you talking about? I stopped carrying about Raoul."

"It didn't look like it when you were kissing the boy," Erik implied. Christine's pupils expand as she realizes that Erik went to see her but saw Raoul trying to get Christine to stay with him. "I saw you. In your bedroom."

"I didn't want to kiss him," Christine interrupted. "When he tried to kiss me again I –"

"It doesn't matter. You still kissed him," Erik interrupted. Christine takes a deep breath as she is frustrated that he will not listen to her. "You've always had the tendency to lie to me."

"NO! That is not true, and you know it! Please believe me! I love you!"

"ENOUGH! I've had it with you, Christine! I don't love you, and I never want to see you ever again! I hate you!"

Christine has tears in her eyes as the words "I hate you" comes out of his mouth. When he said that, it broke her heart. For she believed that loved him and he loved her. "I don't believe what I'm hearing," Christine stuttered. "Erik. Do you really think that I would do this to you? As if it was a game? That's what it is, isn't it?" Erik turns away from her. "A game? Is that what I am to you? I thought you loved me. I thought you really loved me." Erik shuts his eyes and sheds a tear. "You're breaking my heart," Christine said as she chokes and walks towards him to have him face her. "I was willing to give up everything for you because I would rather spend my days hiding and making music than being a cold and miserable rich wife. I wish I could say that I love you but now... now I'm not so sure."

Erik looks up at her and sees tears falling on her cheek. "Goodbye, Erik," she stuttered. Christine then slowly turns around and leaves. As she goes, Erik shuts his eyes, falls to his knees, and cries eyes out. As he feels not only heartbroken to what he saw today, hoping that he did not make a mistake for letting go of Christine again.

A few minutes later, as Christine heads to her horse, Christine starts to feel light headed. Her heart begins to race, and her vision suddenly becomes blurry. As she is walking, she leans against a building having this feeling of becoming weaker and weaker by the minute; having a harder time to breathe. As she is trying to catch her breath, Eliza, who is walking with a basket full of food, notices Christine and questions at first whether or not that it is Christine. She takes a few steps forward and shouts out, "Christine?" Christine looks up as she can barely see Eliza but recognizes her voice. "Eliza," says Christine. "Eli-"

Christine then falls to the ground and passes out. As she does this, Eliza drops the basket that she's carrying and runs over to her. "Christine? Christine!" she says as she shakes, trying to wake Christine up. However, Christine doesn't respond; she is unconscious. Eliza panics and turns and cries out, "Help! Somebody! Please! Help me!"
