💛Chapter 16💛

"Babe, I'm just going to go inside for a few minutes, be right back," Ino said quickly to her boyfriend Sai as her phone rang.

"Okay baby," Sai said then kissed her lips gently as she gets up and walked towards the mansion her heels clicking.

Ino walked inside the mansion through the sliding door and towards the kitchen. She answered her phone.

"Yes hello?," Ino asked with a smile putting her hand on her hip.

"Yes Yamanaka-sama, the gift bag is set and ready and the decorations are almost complete, now that's all is left is to set up some pictures," the lady on the other line said professionally, Ino nodded.

"That's great!, Keep on working on that and make everything excellent. I'll call later to keep updated," Ino said with a smile, glad that everything is running smoothly.

"We'll do Yamanaka-sama," the lady said then they both said their farewells and hung up.

Ino smiled excitedly then looked at her reflection on the window, her long bleach blonde hair was down stopping just below her behind and her dark purple two piece bikini revealed her gorgeous curves and long legs.

She smiled and was about to walk away when Shikamaru stepped inside the kitchen.

"Hey," Shikamaru said as he walks towards the fridge.

"Oh umm hey," Ino said and then smiled trying to be polite," So are you enjoying your stay so far?," She asked looking at him.

"Yeah, it's pretty cool that everyone is finally together and enjoying themselves even though there's tension here and there," Shikamaru said taking a bottle of cold water, he didn't feel like drinking alcohol today.

"Yeah, u-umm, w-well I'm glad that you and your um... wife, are enjoying yourselves," Ino said awkwardly towards her ex fiance and was about to walk away until Shikamaru stopped her.

"Hey, are we ever going to talk about what happened. It's been eight years now and I miss hanging out with you and Temari really wants to make things right again," Shikamaru said, he really misses Ino and being around her. This awkward tension between them and the things from the past are keeping them from doing so because things are unresolved.

"Listen Shikamaru, what happened eight years ago is what you and Temari chose to do, it's not like you guys didn't have a choice. You both went behind my back and "connected" and cheated," Ino said with a frown on her face.

"Yeah that's why I'm here Ino, I want to make things right again. I know a lot has happened but I want to put that all behind us now so we can move forward. Ino you are one of my best friends, I'm not willing to lose our friendship," Shikamaru said pleadingly looking at her and Ino was silent for a moment, a tiny frown on her face.

"Okay, I'll think about it," She said finally not smiling at him even once. Shikamaru though smiled gratefully at her, he was ready to make everything right between them again.

"Babe, is everything okay?, You were taking too long," Sai said as he walk towards the spacious kitchen.

"Yes I'm okay, I'm done with what I was doing. Let's go," Ino said with a smile towards her boyfriend. Sai looked towards Shikamaru with a frown.

"Okay baby, I'll catch up to you," Sai said and Ino nodded walking away, her heel clicking against the tiled floor.

"What do you want from her Nara?," Sai asked a deep frown on his handsome face.

"Is it any of your business Yamato?, Because what Ino and I just discussed is between Ino and I," Shikamaru said annoyed with Sai.

"Listen Ino is my girlfriend okay, and I'm worried about her. She has been through a lot trying to deal with what you and Temari have done to her. She trusted both of you. So whatever is going between you and Ino I deserve to know," Sai said in a hard voice, standing his ground. He was not willing to sit around and let the love of his life be pushed into things she's not ready for.

Shikamaru was silent for a few moments then sighed. Sai is right and he pointed out a few points that really made him feel guilty.

"I was just asking Ino to give Temari and I a second chance. We just want to make things right, even though everything happened I don't regret taking Temari as my wife, I love that woman and I don't want to lose my friendship with Ino, I still care about her deeply," Shikamaru said looking at Sai dead in the eye. He's trying to make Sai see that he was serious about this.

"Okay fine, but I'll tell you one thing. You better have a very good and valid explanation to Ino as to why you chose to betray her like that, with her friend no less. You better get your story straight and everything else straight. Because Ino's self-esteem and self worth suffered greatly because of what you two did," Sai said his voice hard and straight to the point, he then walked away heading back to the pool.

Shikamaru sighed as he leans against the fridge, running his hand through his hair.

"Hey," Temari said with a smile as she walks towards her husband, Shikamaru smiled slightly at the woman.

"Hey," Shikamaru pulling her by the waist against his toned body.

"Did Ino agree to talk to us?," Temari asked running her hands up Shikamaru's abs and around his broad shoulders.

"She said she's going to think about it. I think we should be patient with her," Shikamaru said looking down at his wife, kissing her forehead gently caressing her hips with his large hands. Temari nodded in understanding.

"Hey don't worry, it's going to be okay," He said one last time then leaned in kissing her deeply pulling her closer by the waist. They kissing each deeply for a few minutes, Shikamaru groping her and pulling even closer if that was possible.

"Mmm~, okay don't get too excited now," Temari said with a smirk, feeling a bulge forming in Shikamaru's swimming trunks. Shikamaru only smirked at her and they went back to the pools to join the others.
