"So you tricked him into going to the wrong changing room, laughed at his face, then he dragged you away, warned you not to play dirty with him, and proceeded to cook a fucking steak for you?" Jesse summarises everything I just told him about what happened yesterday.

"Pretty much." I nod putting my long curtain bangs into some rollers to try and get that characteristic volume of the seventies.

"Gi, if you don't fuck that man, I will." He deadpans and I can't help but shake my head because I know he is serious.

"You haven't even seen him." That's all I say instead even though I know it won't change anything. Because I'm pretty sure that the moment Jesse sees him, that statement will only hold more meaning.

"At this point, I don't even care what he looks like. Hot name, hot accent, now we know he also cooks, and that he is a master at playing dirty. That's all I need." He stands up from my bed, already in his bell bottoms, shirt, and corduroy vest, and walks towards me. Handing me the last roller.

"Don't forget that he is an overly confident asshole, controlling and sassy." Ever since he started working for my mother, or me, Russo proved that his character is embellished with some of the great qualities there are, however, that doesn't mean that he's lacking the negative ones.

"You are only making him sound a lot more appealing, you know I love me some sassy men." And before I'm able to dig deeper and start psychoanalyzing every Russo's move Jesse pulls me out of my thoughts with his playful voice.

"Please, behave okay? The plan is to make him run not you getting a restraining order." I joke while taking the roller away from his hands and putting my last few strands of hair around it.

"I promise I will be on my best behavior." He mutters and the well-known, you could even say innocent smile is exchanged with a cheeky smirk.

"Yeah, and I'm supposed to believe that."

Walking away from my vanity I make my way towards my bed where the stuff I bought with Russo at the vintage store lies perfectly stretched. I even ironed it this morning, tonight has to be perfect.

"Hey so, I heard William is going to the party," Jesse's voice is now serious, the smugness from a few moments ago evaporated, and his posture is much more serious now too.

"I know, he texted. Asked if I wanted to go with him, make our appearance together." That message was the first thing I saw when I woke up this morning and trust me when I say I wished that I was still dreaming in that moment.

That text meant only one thing, I will have to face Allister Junior after ignoring him for the last few weeks, no matter whether I want to or not. Knowing that he won't make a scene about it tonight is the only reason I'm still able to keep my cool, he wouldn't do anything that could hurt his reputation at a party where he has to keep appearances.
