"Sure, then you go ahead and find that out. I'm going to party." Swallowing her drink in one go she is quick to take another before walking out of the kitchen on her own. Leaving Jesse behind with a confused look.
"Is there something I should know? Valentina didn't tell me anything about a boyfriend." If someone would know if Gianna has a boyfriend that would be Jesse so as low as it is I decide to ask him hoping he will understand I need the information and give it to me.
"It's complicated, she should be the one to tell you this not me, sorry." Shrugging his shoulder in what I could put as a genuine apology he smiles tightly before turning around and going after Gianna.
Fantastic, I guess I will have to call Valentina because something tells me that googling this won't give me a clear answer. Adjusting the jacket that I bought in that same vintage shop I took Gianna to I get myself together before following the two best friends.
There are fewer people than I thought there would be here, probably just around fifty — on this floor at least — because apparently there's a rooftop where Gianna's boyfriend is. Everyone seems to be in their twenties meaning that I don't stand out, I appear to be just one more of them which is exactly what I wanted. Hiding in plain sight makes my job a lot easier. I'm there if something happens but I'm also not in Gianna's way, I thought she would appreciate having certain freedom.
Resting myself against the wall next to a small group of people I try to go unnoticed by them while I put my eyes on Gianna who is currently dancing with Jesse in the middle of the room. They are not alone but there are not a lot of people either so I can easily watch her from afar. The champagne glass she took before she left the kitchen is already empty, hanging on her right hand while her left one rests on Jesse's shoulder. I guess this is what Valentina meant.
"Who are you interested in?" I turn to my right to find a blonde woman with tight curly hair and blue bold eyeshadow looking at me. Her smile was warm and friendly.
"Excuse me?" I ask softly, eyeing down her very colorful outfit, pink blouse, yellow pants. It's almost as if she went with the eighties rather than the seventies.
"Who are you looking at, Gianna or Jesse?" She repeats her question still smiling. "I can be your wingwoman if you need me." She sounds genuine like she truly wants to help, and I can't help but chuckle softly which also makes her laugh.
She has big blue eyes, and very light skin covered in freckles. Objectively she is a very beautiful woman but so it's everyone at this party. After all, most are in the modeling industry.
"I'm part of Gianna's team, no need for a wingwoman but thank you for the offer..."
"Liane, but everyone calls me Lia." She goes in for a handshake and I do the same. "Are you her new bodyguard? Eaton used to stay in the car when Gianna came to house parties." Giving another look towards Gianna and Jesse to make sure they are still there and that everything is fine I turn my attention back to Liane who apparently seems to know a lot about them. "I'm friends with Jesse, and I'm trying with Gianna, she is a tough one to crack." She explains the reason for her knowledge, laughing once again.
