I spent about thirty minutes telling Jesse about the photo shoot with Lucas, obviously skipping the part where Miles barged into the buffet room and admitted how he felt about me. It felt wrong not to tell him. I knew technically I wasn't lying I was simply avoiding the truth but I had never done that before, not with Jesse. He knew everything about me and I knew everything about him. To be honest I found it quite surprising he hadn't asked me about Miles yet.

"So, where's Russo?" Now there it is, karma. Should have kept quiet.

"He had to shower, he keeps wearing those black shirts and long slacks everywhere, not made for LA weather." They say that if you want someone to believe you, you need to put some truth into your lies and Miles was actually showering, probably sweating too just for another reason.

"Surprised he allowed you out of his sight." He laughs reaching for his champagne flute. Champagne flute that he put on my tab.

"I promised him we would stay on the rooftop, we are getting along a bit better lately. Trying to compromise, I give him so slack and he gives me some back." Again, not a lie, but our compromise goes far beyond that.

"See, told you that he is a good guy, I understand he can get a bit overbearing but he just seems to take his job really seriously."

Only if you knew how seriously he takes his job.

"Yeah, you were right, I just had to give him a chance." I smile also reaching for my champagne and taking a long big sip to try and take the edge off. I forgot to take my pills this morning and I'm a little out of it. Too much going on.

"So... you are not going to say anything?" Jesse asks, his eyes going from the champagne glass tightly gripped around my hand to my eyes.

"What?" I snap, almost choking on the bubbly liquid.

"Oh come on, you really thought I wouldn't be able to tell? You are glowing, your cheeks are red and you have a hickey on your neck." He points at the side of my neck.

"What? I have a hickey?" I let go of the glass and reached for my neck.

"No, you don't but this reaction tells everything I needed to know." He smirks proudly. "I heard you two whisper while I was waiting outside the door, something about clothes and room, could be anything but then when you started talking about Lucas instead of complaining about Miles like you usually do I knew something was up right away. Have been waiting for it to happen, surprised it took you both this long."

Fucker. Don't know why I thought I could hide it from him, he knows me better than anyone.

"You can't say anything, if someone discovers something is going on between us we are fucked, we have too much to lose." I don't even try to deny it because there's no way he will believe me. Miles would understand, Jesse basically discovered it by himself. Tricking me into it but, whatever.
