It had already been two weeks since Carina's birthday, and the Italian had wanted to do something special on Sunday evening for their meeting anniversary in London. It was often details or celebrations that might seem trivial to some, but not to them. Every little victory, every moment when they could get together, was a reason to celebrate.
The brunette had Charles send her some Harrods chocolates from London, the same ones she'd given Maya before the Olympics. Or at least the ones that came closest.
She had set her alarm clock to the music with which she had arrived in the bedroom of the woman who was now her wife, Whitney Houston's One Moment In Time.
A rather late wake-up call, however. After a more-than-pleasant wake-up call, the brunette set off to prepare breakfast. She had made English muffins, for which she had prepared the pastry the day before. She'd made a savory one, each with bacon, egg and always a touch of cheddar cheese, and a sweet one with peanut butter and raspberry marmalade.
She had made cappuccino for the two of them and had made it clear that under no circumstances would she make English coffee. She liked to celebrate their reunion, but not to the point of drinking the worst coffee on the planet.
They had eaten their breakfast and settled down on the sofa, starting by watching films, English ones of course. Even though it wasn't the season, they couldn't resist watching Love Actually. They then took a break to eat fish and chips, followed by Imagine Me And You.
Then it was off to the shower, together, before going for a walk. Even though the setting wasn't the same, they'd gone to the Ferris wheel and taken a ride, snuggled up in each other's arms. They'd strolled along the banks of Elliott Bay for a while, before going home to watch Nothing Hill over a beef Wellington.
It was much easier to watch romantic movies now that they'd finally found each other.
On Tuesday, the A team was on intervention. They were on a big fire and by the time they'd finally finished, and were on their way back to the firehouse, Dean had seen that he'd had fifteen missed calls.
He, Maya, Jack had had to leave for the hospital, as they'd been slightly injured during the intervention, and they'd been there just for a check-up.
He had then called JJ, before turning to the blonde.
- "captain?"
- "yes?"
- "I know I shouldn't... But can we take the ambulance and go straight to my place?"
- "why what's going on?"
- "It's JJ, she thinks she's going into labor. I'm sure it's nothing ... But just in case."
They'd arrived at Dean's and from the puddle in the kitchen near the entrance, JJ's water had indeed broken.
"JJ? Where are you?"
- "I'm in your room!!!" She said through clenched teeth.
- "in my room?!" He whispered to Jack and Maya, disgusted. "Why hasn't she been in her room?!"
- "no idea" replied Jack and Maya at the same time, lifting their shoulders.
The three of them had gone to Dean's room.
- "this is not an exhibition!!! Take me to the hospital and right now!"
- "Hi, JJ, remember me?" Maya asked.
- "yeah, firefighter barbie" she replied before moaning in pain through clenched teeth.
- "uh, fire captain barbie" replied Jack, earning him a glare from the woman about to give birth.
