That evening, when Maya had returned from work, her wife was in the kitchen, preparing a huge dish of lasagne. 

- "Did I miss an episode?"

- "I invited the Tanners, Andrew and Jo as well as Taryn and Mika."

- "any particular reason?"

- "I think we need to talk to them... And then I had Andrea on the phone, so indeed I collapsed in the open space... And I spoke in Italian... So «nobody» understood what I was saying apart from your first name... But Taryn knows me and she asked Andrea if she could call me and if she'd understood that I was pregnant... So I invited them to come and eat and I think we need to ask them to keep it to themselves for now... And for Jo... I just don't want Andrea to have to hide anything from her."

The blonde had come to take her wife by the waist and put her hands on her belly.

- "um okay and how are the loves of my life?" she asked, resting her lips on her shoulder.

Carina turned her head and came to kiss her wife's nose and then her lips.

- "much better in the last thirty seconds"

Maya had come to kiss her wife on her neck now. 

-"Can I help you?"

- "can you set the table?"

- "I can do anything you want, my love. What time are they coming?"

- "from here... An hour."

- "okay so can I give you one more hug?"

- "with pleasure" 

Maya had started humming Christopher's Beautiful Life.

Then she began to sing the second verse, making a few adjustments.

-"«mommy, I can't sleep», she said

Carina had let hee finish, one of her hands on her wife's and her head resting against her wife's. 

-"Do you think it's a girl? Or at least do you want to?"

- "I just want a child... with you"

-"You can say it. «I just want a healthy child»." 

- "Amo-"

- "I do. I couldn't bear to lose another child."

- "this child will be healthy my love. You've suffered enough." 

Carina had resumed making her dish while the blonde had gone to set the table. She then left to change before their guests arrived. 

Andrea and Jo were the first to arrive. They had brought the two women flowers, and before they could start talking, Andy and Ryan had knocked on the front door of the house. 

The six of them had said hello to each other, and Ryan had given Maya and Carina a huge smile. 

- "go ahead, say it"

- "oh no, that's not even something he wants to say" 

He'd grinned even bigger and pulled out a little firefighter's outfit from a bag he was holding.
