Nothing excited Leah more than watching her youngest sister wait to be sorted. Leah, now in her third year at Hogwarts, waited on the edge of her seat as Amber's name was called first. Damian and Savannah shared exasperated looks across the table. Leah had introduced them to both Amber and Draco on the train and made the two first years nervous by talking about the sorting.

The brim of the hat opened wide. Leah held her breath.

"SLYTHERIN!"

Leah jumped up and clapped with the rest of her classmates as Amber came to join them.

"Did you see Potter?" Amber whispered to her as she sat down. Leah shook her head and immediately scanned the crowd for the boy. She saw him standing not too far from Draco. He was looking around the room just as she had on her first day. Their eyes met for a split second, but he didn't seem to recognize anything about her.

"He will learn soon. He has a lot to answer for," she whispered back to Amber and the two sisters shared a smirk.

Once Draco's name was called, Leah became attentive again. But she needn't worry. As soon as the hat touched his head, it yelled, "SLYTHERIN!" and Leah clapped once more. She noticed how Potter's eyes seemed to follow him across the room, and back to the Slytherin table. Once again their eyes met. This time, Potter frowned like he was trying to remember something. Leah gave him a nasty grin and he shuddered and turned away from her.

Leah's gaze wandered again and she noticed a portly boy near the back of the line. As if sensing her gaze, Neville Longbottom turned to look at her. His face paled and he nearly dropped his toad. She gave him her best sneer. Yes, soon Potter would know all about her. They may not know the truth about her father yet, that would happen in a matter of time, but her mother's reputation was just as bad. It was better to be feared than loved, in Leah's opinion.

She watched the rest of the crowd get sorted without much interest. Another Weasley child arrived and was sorted into Gryffindor along with Potter, Longbottom, and a Granger girl that Draco told her was a Mudblood.

At last the sorting was over and the feast began. Leah, Amber, Damian, and Savannah all sat around talking. Draco introduced them to the two boys he had met on the train, Crabbe and Goyle. Leah didn't think much of them. They seemed too thick to function, but at least they had respectable names.

As Amber and the first years followed the prefects to the common room, Leah Savannah, and Damian took a shortcut down to the dungeons. In the dormitory, Savannah and Leah stayed up talking long into the night. Leah was happy to be back at Hogwarts with her sister.

The rest of the year was filled with chaos. Ever since Potter arrived at the school, everything went wack. Seeing him join the house Quidditch team infuriated her. One night, she was sitting in the common room, expressing her anger.

"Perfect Potter," she snapped. Damian, Draco, and Amber watched her silently. Savannah was in detention. "He gets such special treatment. It's disgusting." Amber and Draco looked at each other. They both knew better than say to say anything and risk making her angrier. Damian however, stood up and crossed the room toward her.

"Relax Leah. Eventually he'll cross a line and get killed or expelled." He placed a hand on her shoulder but she shrugged him off roughly.

"That's not good enough!" She stood up so abruptly that her chair toppled over. Damian took a step back as he saw her green eyes flash in anger. "He still has to pay for what he did to my parents."

Draco froze. Amber glared at her sister. But Leah looked unabashed. She had not yet shared her true parentage with her two best friends. Damian did not seem to notice anything though. He was shaking his head and looking at the ground.
