The rest of Leah's stay at Hogwarts was filled with the screams of children as the Carrows rained their punishments down on them. Wishing she could claw off her ears, Leah stayed in her chambers as often as she could, having food delivered personally to her. It was a big relief when she could finally return home, even though she was starting to dread home too, but she missed Barty, Seth, and Arya.

Snape walked her to the gates which he had met her at, bid her goodbye, then left without another world. Leah wasn't sorry to see him go. As soon as she was outside the castle's protective enchantments, she twisted on the spot, cloak swirling, and landed gracefully in the sight of Malfoy Manor. The mansion looked darker than she had remembered, but then again, the entire world seemed darker.

She walked quickly up the lane, eager to see her family. The doors burst open magically as she reached them. She was just about to race up the stairs to her bedroom when a cold voice called her name from the dinning hall.

"Leah," the Dark Lord called.

Grinding her teeth against her sigh of annoyance, she spun around and stomped into the dinning hall, plastering a smile on her face. "Yes, Father?" she said through clenched teeth.

He either didn't notice her annoyance or chose to ignore it. "How goes everything at Hogwarts?"

"Just fine," she said, edging back towards the door. "The Carrows are horrible, beating sense into scared children. They have everything under control."

"Good," Voldemort nodded his pale head. "Good."

Before he could say another word to her, Leah slipped out the door and up the stairs. She threw open the door to her bedroom, causing Barty to spin around, clutching his wand.

"Leah," he breathed, lowering his wand. "You scared me."

"Sorry," Leah mumbled. She crossed the room and Barry folded her in his arms. "I missed you," she said, inhaling his familiar scent.

"I missed you too," he told her, burying his face in her hair.

"Where are Seth and Arya?"

"Narcissa and Daphne took them to the park again," he explained. "They really seem to love it there. They'll be home soon though."

Leah nodded as Barty pulled her to the bed. They collapsed onto it. She curled into his side. In what seemed like no time at all, Leah closed her eyes and fallen asleep. She hadn't realized how exhausted she was, being kept up by nightmares of the dead lost in this war. Barty stroked her hair as tremors ran through her body. Her eyes flickered widely behind her closed lids, but it wasn't until she broke out into a cold sweat that Barty shook her awake.

"Leah," he called.

Her eyes snapped open. Her nightmare fled from her mind as soon as she woke. "What?" she muttered. Her eyes fluttered closed again, wanting to go back to sleep.

"I think Seth and Arya are home," he told her as he heard the distant slam of a door.

Leah groaned and stretched her body, feeling her bones crack and pop into awareness. Wrapping her hair in a ponytail, Leah and Barty made their way downstairs where Narcissa and Daphne had indeed just walked through the door.

She rushed forward, wishing she had enough arms to carry both Seth and Arya. She took her son from Narcissa's arms while she let Barty take Arya. Seth cooed, gripping Leah's black hair in his tiny hands, talking to her in his little baby babble. Now five months old, Seth was starting to be more vocal and trying to stand up on his own. Arya, barely a month younger, was already trying to imitate him.
