Time flies by
I finally learned I had to stop trying
My expectations were far too high
To myself, I only kept lying
Life's been helping, though
She's slowly showing me how it is to let go
Even my heart is letting itself a chance
Allowing me to accept others' glances
I know the memories will always stay
Because you see, I think that's the way
It is between you and me
And will always be
All or nothing
But I know we'll never be a thing
The wounds are only healing
And I don't know if I'm ready to let you
Destroy what I've been working on
For the next time, I can expect
But now I have the choice to accept
Before I go, let me tell you a secret
You'll never be a regret.
