We've always been known as "the funny friends"
The ones that only talked nonsense
And thought it was fun
But I've always wanted so much more, hun
I was never enough
I was funny, but not "spit your water out of your mouth" funny
I was pretty, but not hot
I was smart, but not mature
After all, we were friends
I should have been satisfied
But I always wanted more of you
Gosh, I desired all of you
I saw only the parts of you
You showed everyone
You didn't leave me any piece of you
You hadn't already shared with anyone
I feel like I've done everything I could
To get out of the platoon
Maybe it's just too soon
If you wanted to, you would
So now I just have to get over you
How I hope you would love me, too
Maybe in another lifetime, we're an item
But right now, I'm just one of them.
