Strange how I always thought your eyes were blue
Not an ocean blue, or a sky blue, more like an icy blue
Guess I didn't pay attention enough, did I,
To those golden eyes
I would have known that they hide many secrets
That behind your pretty smiles and kindness
Was the shadow of a bet
You made to yourself
I was a lover
You were a fighter
What I took for an eternity promise
Was for you just a premise
You told me you adored me
I told you I loved you
While I thought both were true
You were only messing with me
Charming me with your sweet words
And delicate touch
While my heart was slashed by the sword
Of the way you pushed me on the white couch
The next day, how naive I was
To expect it would be the same as it was
You told me it was just a phase
Later, you would refer to it as a mistake
I remember everything about that day
Or almost, I would say
But if I learned one thing about you and I
It's to be careful about those golden eyes.
