Chapter 11 River Chase

The four Smurfs were by the river. They looked at the river and were so surprised to see a river going up and down.

Inventor: We should be at a river.

All: Wow.

Glammy: So amazing to see it.

Hope: It is.

The Smurfs got off Bucky, trying to see how they would get to the Waterfall.

Hope: Thanks Bucky.

Glammy: Does anyone have any ideas on getting to the Waterfall?

Hope: We can't take Bucky across the river, and it's unsafe.

Inventor: We can build a boat. Hunter, get my tools.

The four Smurfs grabbed all the stuff they needed to make a boat. Glammy helped Hope do the same thing with the others, and they finished building the boat.

Inventor: Looks perfect. An excellent job, everyone.

Hunter: Looks great.

Hope went to get her stuff from Bucky. And felt connected to all the things around her.

Hope: OK, Bucky. We have everything we need now. Hopefully, you will find another way to meet at the Waterfall. It looks like I feel connected to this place.

Glammy: Come on. Hope we have to go.

Hope: Coming.

All the Smurfs went to the back of the boat to push it; they pushed the boat into the river and went on the boat. The river lifted the boat up and down, and they turned to Bucky.

Hope: Bye, Bucky.

Glammy: Thanks bud. Please meet us at the Waterfall.

Inventor: See you there, Bucky.

Hope was at the back, touching the water just then. Her hand started to glow, and the boat moved through the stream. The others were surprised to see Hope with tamed magic in her, then Hunter looked beside the boat and saw a lever.

Hunter: Hey, what do you think this lever is for?

Inventor: Don't touch it, Hunter.

Hunter: Oh, I want to touch it.

Hope was using her magic to make the boat go. Just then, they were looking at the view.

Glammy: We will be at the Waterfall soon.

Inventor: If we follow this river, we'll be right on course.

Gargamel: on course.

They were confused about who said that. They looked around and saw Gargamel in the form of a dangerous water beast.

Gargamel: Almost to the end of my rainbow.

Gargamel looked around, saw the Smurfs, and was ready to grab Hope.

Gargamel: Finally, I found you. There is nowhere you can escape from me.

Hope: Guys, hang on.

All the Smurfs hang on as Hope uses her magic. And she made the boat go faster. Gargamel got so mad.

Gargamel: Oh no, you won't get away from me.

Gargamel dives deep and swims under the water, trying to go faster. Gargamel caught up, and Hope used her magic as much as possible.

Gargamel: what the... No!

Gargamel grabs a stick from a tree they passed by, and everyone gasps the same thing as Hope. Gargamel looked at Hope and tried to grab her.

Gargamel: Stop ruining things; ruining things is my thing. Now I got you.

He tried to grab Hope, but she dodged. As he missed,  Hope used her magic to make the stick smaller.

Gargamel: What, I need a bigger stick.

Up ahead, they saw a chaotic part of the river, streams going all over the place and in different directions. They all looked, and Hope's magic was starting to drain her.

Gargamel: Oh, dear.

Hope: Guys, I can't keep up much longer.

Inventor: Hunter, pull the lever!

Hunter: Right now?

Glammy: yeah, now Hope's magic is starting to drain.

Inventor: Pull it now!

Hunter pulled the lever from the boat, and a sail appeared. Glammy held Hope on one side while Inventor and Hunter were on the other. The Smurfs sailed through the chaotic rive while Gargamel swam very badly. Then Gargamel jumped off and landed inside another river underwater. He was struggling to keep going. When he jumped again, he was almost where the Smurfs were. Then, a rock floated up in front of them.

Glammy: Guys, look out!

They all ducked as the rock broke off the sail, though Gargamel wasn't so lucky as he got hit and was transformed back to his evil self and fell into the water. The smurfs all made it in one piece and cheered on.

Inventor: Yeah, that was a close one.

Glammy: Take that Gargamel!

Hunter: Oh yeah!!

Glammy went to Hope, checked if she was OK, and hugged her. Gargamel was drowning and asked for help, but they ignored him. Inventor looked around to see the Waterfall was nearby.

Inventor: All right, we're still on course.

Glammy: Hope, try to rest for a bit. I will take over.

Hope: OK, thanks, Glammy.

Gargamel keeps on yelling at the Smurfs for help. Hunter looked back at Gargamel, and then he looked at Inventor.

Hunter: Guys, what's he up to?

Inventor: I don't know, it can't be good.

Gargamel: I'm drowning here.

He kept rambling on things to make them change their minds.

Glammy: We have to help him.

Inventor: What, why?

Glammy: It's what we do.

Hope, Inventor, and Hunter were against this.

Hope: No way he tries to grab me.

Hunter: He could be lying.

Inventor: And a dangerous villain.

Glammy: Guys, we're doing this. It's what we do.

They were against Glammy wanting to help Gargamel and didn't like the idea.

Inventor: You know this is a bad idea.

Glammy: We're doing it no matter the cost.

Glammy took the floaty next to the boat, tied it to a rope, and threw it.

Glammy: grab on!

The floaty was on Gargamel's nose, and it went to the boat where the Smurfs were.

Gargamel: Thank you, such a kind smurf.

Glammy: You OK?

Gargamel: I'm OK, but... I'm still evil, so

He hit the three boys off the boat and grabbed Hope, making the three go into the river. Hope bit Gargamel's hand and jumped into the river as she and the others were almost to the Waterfall, keeping their heads up. Then, they fell down the Waterfall, and Gargamel screamed with rage that he lost her again; they went unconscious from the rough river stream.
