Aether returned to the same grocery store the next day, his lips curving up into a smile when he saw Xiao stocking some shelves. He walked over to him, waving.

Xiao noticed this, feeling a bit creeped out by the fact that the same boy from yesterday was back again, but decided to ignore him and continue his job. Aether's smile faltered a little, but he was determinded to befriend Xiao. "Hey, your name is... Xiao, right?" Aether asked, pointing to the nametag on Xiao's uniform. "What do you need help with?" Xiao answered in a sorta cold, bland tone, not even sparing Aether a single glance. "Nothing. I just wanted to know if you'd be willing to hang out sometime?" "No."

Aether frowned a little, sighing softly. "Alright, I'll catch you next time then." He said, before walking away. He decided to at least buy something, as to not look creepy, only coming to the store to talk to Xiao.

Over the next few weeks, Aether came to the store everyday to talk to Xiao, even if Xiao wasn't willing to talk at first. Eventually, Xiao welcomed Aether's presence, even hanging out with him outside work (even if he was probably forced by Aether).

"Xiao~ I'm here," Aether called out, running up to Xiao with his usual bright smile. Xiao smiled a little bit, glancing at Aether and raising his hand to wave at the golden haired boy. Aether continued to tell Xiao about his day, and some gossip about people around him. Xiao usually just listened to Aether ramble while completing a task, occasionally making a comment or nodding and humming in acknowledgement. Aether ended the conversation with asking Xiao if he wanted to hang out later in the day, to which Xiao hesitantly agreed.

When they both arrived at the agreed upon meet up spot, Xiao minutes earlier than Aether, they begun to talk a bit. Aether noticed Xiao was a lot more comfortable with him outside of work, where there wasn't a whole bunch of noise and people around. Aether grabbed Xiao's hand and dragged him to a secluded area, where no one was. It was just a peaceful flower field of dandelions, with a big tree in the middle, next to a statue which looked sort of like a memorial for an important person. They both sat down under the tree, Xiao laying down on the grass and Aether sitting up against the tree.

After a little while, Aether cleared his throat, faint blush present on his cheeks. Aether hesitated, which wasn't really normal for him, so Xiao wondered if it was a topic sensitive to talk about. "Hey, uhm.. I was wondering if... you would like to be my boyfriend?" Aether spoke quietly, sort-of embarrassed by his own words. Xiao was shocked for a few minutes, processing Aether's words.

"Sorry- I know it's dumb and you don't like this sort of thing-"
"Sure."
"I get it- huh, what?"
"I'm not repeating myself."
