As the sun shined through the window, casting a warm glow over the otherwise dim room, Aether found himself stirring awake. His eyes slowly opened, pooling with a sweet honey colour. He let out a small yawn, slowly sitting up straight. He stretched, flexing his sore muscles.

Aether reached over onto his nightstand, grabbing his phone and turning it on to check the time before he noticed something; it’s Easter day. He let out an involuntary gasp, realizing he’s late for school. He got out of bed, rushing to get dressed which resulted in a very sloppily made tie. He rushed down the stairs, sighing softly when he saw his sister, Lumine, sitting at the kitchen island with her own uniform on. Which it of couse looked better than Aether’s because she didn’t rush.

“Lumine, good morning.” He spoke sheepishly, watching as Lumine turned around to look at him. “Morning, you slug. It’s already 9:30AM, you should be glad that I waited for you.” “It’s not like I asked you to wait for me!” He huffed, which caused Lumine to chuckle softly as she got up from her seat. “C’mon, your 'boyfriend' is waiting for you outside. Don’t worry, he only got here like 5 minutes ago.” She explained, already getting on her shoes. “He is NOT my boyfriend!” “Oh? Then how’d you know who I was talking about?” “I- ugh.. you’re exhausting.”

As they walked outside, Xiao turned his head up to the noise of the small argument, seeing a very exasperated Aether talking to his proud twin. He chuckled at the sight, it was a very familiar view as he got to see it almost everyday. At some point, he started finding comfort in the arguments between the twins, almost looking forward to them. Xiao gave a small smile and wave, before his expression turned back to the usual solemn look. Aether sighed softly, returning the smile except it actually stayed. He walked up to Xiao, making a bit of small talk with the ravenette while they walked to school together, his sister walking closely behind them with headphones on.

It was announced that morning on the speaker that there would be an Easter-themed event in the afternoon, though it wasn’t specified what sort of event. Aether and Xiao both figured they sit out of it while Lumine only agreed to participate because her girlfriend was gonna participate, and she was guessing it was gonna be a duo event anyways. This wasn’t very surprising to Aether and Xiao, as Lumine usually only did something if Ayaka was doing it. If not, then it was only if she was in an exceptionally good mood that she actually does something.

Later in the afternoon, where the event was supposed to be held, all of the students were led out into a field behind the school. There, there was some stands set up with small games. But the main event was the egg hunt, which you did not have to participate in if you weren’t feeling like it.

Obviously, like planned, the blonde and the ravenette both sat out of the event, with Aether humming to a song he was listening to with Lumine’s headphones and Xiao reading a book.

After the event, Lumine was in 2nd place for the egg hunt. She wasn’t a big fan of chocolate so she just gave it all to Aether, who was a fan of most foods anyway. There was no prize for any of the events besides for the chocolate eggs, since this was an event ran by a few of the student council students and it was purely supposed to be for fun.

“I’m joining up with Ayaka again, don’t go snogging over here behind the tree.” “Lumine!”
As Lumine ran off to join up with Ayaka again to enjoy the rest of the games together, Aether and Xiao were left alone again.

“Aether, could I try one of the chocolate eggs?” A soft voice rang from beside the blonde, which earned the ravenette a small nod and smile. Getting Xiao to talk to you was a feat in itself, but him asking for something from you honestly showed how comfortable he is with you. It wasn’t unknown to the students that they’re very close, some even considered the duo to be in a relationship, which of course the blonde and ravenette denied all accusations.

“Hey Xiao,” He called out, turning to Xiao. “Hm?” Xiao hummed as a reply, “Turn towards me, please.” “Sure, what do you need-” The shorter of the two asked, before getting cut off by Aether placing a headband with bunny ears on the other’s head. It took Xiao a moment to process what he did before sighing softly. “And how long do I have to keep this on?” He asked, getting a reply a moment later. “Only until the end of the school day, pleasee?” He practically begged, earning himself a nod but also an exhausted expression before the darker haired one turned back to continue reading.

Hu Tao walked up to Xiao as he was getting a book out of his locker, tapping on his shoulder. “My dear brother, why, pray tell, are you wearing bunny ears?” She asked with a snicker. Xiao raised an eyebrow, giving a knowing look. “Thought you would’ve figured it out already, Tao.” He said, pausing for a moment before adding, “But if you really want to hear it from my mouth, Aether wanted me to wear them.”

“You’re such a sucker for him!” She exclaimed, cracking a small grin.
“At least I’m not failing my classes.”
“What does that have to do with this?!”
