AN: Heyy!! My friend gave me the idea for this story as well. Apologies for the lack of updates, I find it hard to start a project without procrastinating for at least a few days.

Aether let out a soft sigh. He wasn’t particularly thrilled with having to share a dorm. He took out his dorm key, that he previously got from the office, and slid it into the lock. Once he turned the key and opened the door, he saw Xiao, who was sitting on the couch. “Ah.. Xiao, good morning.” Aether said sheepishly, walking into the dorm and retrieving his key. “What are you doing here?” Xiao asked, his tone sounding almost annoyed though there was no hostile look on his face or body language. “This is my dorm — I thought you were informed that everyone would be sharing a dorm with another person.” Aether explained gently, unconsciously using little hand movements to highlight his words. Xiao paused, almost looking like he was trying to pick the words to use in his next sentence. “But.. there’s only one bedroom.” “With two beds, right?” Aether asked, scratching his cheek. “No. Only one bed.” Xiao replied, letting out an audible sigh and getting up from his seat. “No, no-! I’ll go ask the secretary to see if they can do anything about this.” Aether left the room, almost looking like he was rushing to leave the situation as soon as possible.

A few moments later, he returned with a defeated expression on his face. “No luck?” Xiao asked, his tone indicating that he predicted this outcome. “Yup. Don’t worry, I can sleep on the couch.” “If you insist,” Xiao said, not totally bothered by the situation. He got up from his seat to hide away in the bedroom. After a few hours, Aether got ready for bed and laid down on the couch. Although it wasn’t the best, he figured he could put up with it for just a year before they graduate.

Late in the night, around 1:43AM, Xiao got up from his bed to get a midnight snack. He walked to the edge of the couch to check up on Aether before going back to bed and found him curled up in a ball not looking the comfiest. He stood there for a moment, trying to figure out what to do before eventually ending up on bringing him to bed with him. Xiao quietly walked closer, gently picking up Aether bridal style and making sure he didn’t wake up before beginning to walk to the dorm bedroom.

He gently laid Aether down and made sure he was comfortable before climbing in on the other side, it was a few hours before he actually fell back asleep though. Xiao wasn’t exactly known for having a good sleep schedule, seeing as he has insomnia.

Aether would be in for a scare when he wakes up.

AN: I’m not exactly in love with how I executed this story. A lot of the writing could’ve been a LOT better, but I was on a time crunch and didn’t even have much motivation to write anyway. I have to write a fantasy narative for ELA so I’ve been working on that for a little while. I might post the finished product here, since it’ll likely be a Xiaother story. Anyways, I wrote way more in this note than intended, I hope y’all have a good day! Don’t kill yourself or others!
