You have been taunting me for a while. To whom has been singing?"

*silence*

"There is no reason to hide. Please reveal yourself. Let me see the face of the one who calls."

Behind a tree, a timid boy with dotted specks across his face slowly appears in the traveler's view.

The boy's intriguing blue eyes are like a gentle wave, drifting you into a deep slumber, luring you to your demise.

"I have come to escort a known traveler. I assume that is you?" the boy asked.

"To where?" the traveler asked, already knowing whom the boy was talking to.

"The king. He invites you to the kingdom to take on a request," he stated.

"Why shall I accept his invocation?" the traveler demanded.

"I am not to speak," the boy said, looking tense.

A gentle breeze flows softly, roaring in between the trees. The traveler's aura suffocates and chokes the air away from your body until it becomes inconvenient. Seeping through the lungs, sending it aflame and making breathing unbearable.

"Come, follow," the blue-eyed male ordered, turning around and leaving the traveler alone.
Sounds of footsteps fall softly on the ground, crushing the leaves beneath.

The other male danced on the grass as if barely touching the ground, walking effortlessly like a small floating leaf gliding in the wind.

The traveler signed before following him. He strolled behind him, leaving only a few feet apart, provoking the other male.

The two knew what they were doing to each other. The blue-eyed male glanced behind him, curious why the traveler was toying with him.

"Why were you singing," the traveler suddenly asked, keeping the same distance.

"I was seeking out your attention," the other stated. The traveler nodded even though the other male couldn't see.

"What are you? You clearly aren't human," the traveler bluntly asked.

"I'm a spirit created by my master. I serve and obey my master's orders, and I was told to bring back a traveler, " the blue-eyed male explained.

The traveler narrowed his eyes, coldly staring into the other's back. "Why is the king so desperate to get his hands on me?" the traveler asked seriously.

"I am not sure why you were needed, but it was only directed toward the court," the blue-eyed male stated.

*Time skip*

They arrived at the beautiful castle gates, covered in amethyst crystals. The gates opened, revealing a garden with wildflowers spread everywhere. A variety of mushrooms and plants surrounded the trail to the main door.

"It's quite beautiful." the traveler said, facing the other male, who ignored his statement and continued walking. They entered the castle walls and were met by a servant.

"Please follow me," the servant said, directing them to the throne room.

As they walked through the halls, the traveler noticed the white marble walls with vines growing between them—the castle's interior mixed lavender and light blue with gold accents.

Purple candles lit up the halls, making them warm and inviting with millions of colored flowers in vases.

The traveler scanned the interior, mesmerized until he noticed the others' eyes. They were gleaming a bright blue hue, creating a small light source.

The closer the blue-eyed male was to the castle, the more his magical appearance manifested.

His jaw became softer, and his eyes became round. His demeanor changed entirely once they entered the palace. They enter the throne room, interrupting a meeting with the king.

The king looks up from where he stands and signals the court to dismiss. The doors close, giving them privacy to discuss.

"I have been expecting you, dear traveler," the king said, rounding around the table.

"I have sent my trustworthy emissary to come and fetch you. It sure was troublesome. You, indeed, were hard to find," the king explained.

"You spoke of a quest?" the traveler asked, getting straight to the point.

"You are correct, and I require your assistance," the king replied, smirking.

"What kind of quest?" the traveler asked emotionlessly.

"I'm glad you asked," the king replied, sitting on his throne.

"I need you to travel through the badlands to retrieve an item," the king explained, rolling out a map.

"What item do I need to retrieve?" the traveler asked, staring coldly at the king.

"That is none of your concern," the king replied sternly.

"What if I decline?" the traveler asked, slightly raising his voice. The king quickly stood up and grabbed the traveler's collar.

"I am the king! You will do what I ask!" The emissary widened his eyes, flinching at the king's aggressive behavior.

"You will retrieve this item for me and be rewarded fully. Do you understand?" the king spat in the traveler's face before letting go.

The traveler fixed his shirt, glaringly at the king. He curled his fist, stopping himself from striking the king.

"My apologies, my lord. I wasn't thinking." the traveler said, bowing his head.

"I'm glad you understand," the king muttered, signaling the blue-eyed male to come closer. "I am sending you with my trusty emissary.

You will find him quite useful," the king chuckled, squeezing his freckled cheeks.

He bent down to his ear and whispered something, making the male blush a bright pink. He let go and faced the traveler.

"Be careful with him, or so help me, you will die a slow, painful death," the king demanded, gritting his teeth.
