Being rescued at the last moment feels like a sudden surge of relief and disbelief washing over you.

Your heart, which has been pounding with fear, starts to calm, and a sense of safety slowly envelops you. It's like being pulled from the edge of a cliff just as you were about to fall, with the adrenaline still coursing through your veins.

Every breath feels precious, and the world around you, once filled with danger, now seems almost surreal in its tranquility.

There's a deep gratitude, a profound appreciation for the second chance you’ve been given, mingled with the lingering remnants of the fear you just escaped.

Jeonghan felt a rush of relief and disbelief when he saw Seungcheol and his men burst into the house with firearms. They immediately hurled Jeonghan's father to his knees.

Jeonghan, struggling on the floor, reached out for Seungcheol with bloodied hands, desperate to touch him, to ease the frown on his forehead.

"Call the fucking ambulance!" Seungcheol roared, dropping his gun and rushing to take Jeonghan into his arms.

"I swear to god, if anything happens to my husband, I'll end every single person on this cursed planet." His voice cracked as Jeonghan wrapped his arms around his neck.

"Stay strong. It's getting here. You're safe," Seungcheol murmured, his voice trembling. Jeonghan managed a weak smile, feeling his life slipping away.

"I never imagined a day would come where you'd be terrified to lose me," he said, his eyes moistening.

Seungcheol cares. Seungcheol cares about him. He's crying for him.

"Shut up, Jeonghan. You're not leaving me," Seungcheol snapped weakly as the wail of sirens grew louder.

The ambulance screeched to a halt outside, and paramedics rushed in. Seungcheol carried Jeonghan out, gently laying him on the stretcher.

"Please, save him," Seungcheol pleaded as they loaded Jeonghan into the ambulance. He climbed beside him, clutching Jeonghan's hand tightly.

"You're safe now," he whispered, his voice breaking, as the ambulance sped away.

"Stop crying," Jeonghan said weakly as the nurse tried to wipe the blood from his hair. Seungcheol felt his world shatter.

One moment, he received a call from Jun saying Jeonghan was missing, and the next, he found him bleeding to death. Seungcheol didn't know who the man responsible was or what his relationship with Jeonghan had been.

But if that man was the cause of Jeonghan's state, he would face the worst possible death.

"Why did you leave the house without Jun? How long are you gonna be so fucking stubborn? Do you know how scared I was?" Seungcheol gripped Jeonghan's hand tightly.

He couldn't bear the thought of losing his husband, not again and definitely not like this.

"I'm sorry, I keep causing trouble," Jeonghan whispered, squeezing Seungcheol's hand back. Seungcheol shook his head, his eyes filled with desperation.

"No, stop talking, please. You're making it hard for me..." Seungcheol dropped to his knees beside him, his face twisted in agony.
