Katherine's POV

"We're demon hunters." Gale growled, taking offence to what Cameron had said. "We don't need to know anything about other creatures-"

"Creatures?" I interrupted him, standing up from sitting on Knox's back and stepping towards Gale. Cameron took my place and put a foot on Knox. "Is that what I am to you? A creature?"

"Wait, no, Katherine I didn't mean-"

"You know what?" I scoffed in disbelief. "Don't worry about it." I mutter as I storm out of the room.

Creature... I should have just gone to my classes today...

I pushed the button to call the elevator. "Katherine, wait." Gale walked towards me.

The elevator doors opened. I turned around to look at him. He was a few strides away from reaching me. "What do you want, Gale?"

"I want you to not step into that elevator and listen to me apologize." He said firmly.

I looked at the elevator and then back at him as the doors began to close.

He took a few steps towards me and cupped my face in his hands. "I'm sorry about what I said, I wasn't thinking about what I was saying..."

"Well, if it's what you think-"

"It's not." He interrupted. "I don't think you, or any demon for that matter, is a creature. Its only what my parents have raised me to think and say."

I gave him a small smile before he leaned forward and kissed my forehead. I shut my eyes for a moment before his hands and lips left my face. One of his hands reached down and held my hand.

"Let's go back and deal with the... Vampire."

**********

"You just have a thyme rope ready?" Gale asked, looking up from an unconscious Knox.

"Cameron's very cautious..." I replied, staring into space as blurry flashbacks filled my mind. A shutter ran down my spine as I snapped out of it.

I looked up at Gale as he began to talk. "About a vampire?" he paused. "What did you mean when you said that he wasn't supposed to come back?"

"Don't worry about it." I muttered, crossing my arms over my stomach, and looked down at the floor as I thought about what had happened two years ago.

I could feel Gales stare on me as I twisted my head to Cameron. "What are we gonna do with him?"

Cameron looked at me. "Does your demon hunter have a dungeon?"

Gale sighed. "I'll see what I can do."

**********

"Hey love birds!" Luna cheered as she walked into the dorm room. "And Cameron?" She paused before looking down at a still unconscious Knox. "Who the fuck is that?" She asked.

"His name is Knox." I replied. I was sitting on Knox's back. Cameron and I had been taking turns.

Zack and Elanor entered the room shortly after Luna, shutting the door behind them.

"Uhm..." Zack murmured, looking around the room for Gale after looking down at Knox. "Where's Gale?"

"He's asking Sebastian for a space in his dungeons for this," I patted Knox on the head. "big guy."

"Do you think Seb will be willing to help?" Zack asked as he walked past Luna and towards me and Knox.

"He will when Gale tells him what Knox is." I sighed. "Cameron, your turn."

Cameron huffed and walked towards me and Knox, placing his foot on Knox's back quickly after I stood up.

Zack looked at me with confusion. "Is he not a demon...?"

"Vampire..." I sighed. "And blood mage." I added as to not make the same mistake of leaving that part out to Gale. Just in case Knox woke up from his slumber and began laughing again just to remind me of what he can do... What he has done...

"Wha-?" Zack gaped. "Vampire? Blood mage? How the fuck are any of those possible."

"You're a demon hunter." Elanor spoke. "Of course, you didn't know they existed. It's really rare for them to be both blood mage and vampire."

"Well..." I muttered. "I guess being a rare type of being fucks you up after one hundred and fifty years."

"One hundred and fifty years?!" Luna exclaimed.

"Well, it took him one hundred and fifty-five to become the way he is now." Cameron said. "He is one hundred and fifty-seven now."

The door opened and Gale and Sebastian walked into the room. "Shit." Sebastian muttered. He was still emotionless. I envied his ability to keep his shit together. "I was hoping you were joking just to get me here to..." He looked up from Knox to look at me. "Talk..."

"Can we use one of your dungeons?" Gale muttered.

"Sure." Sebastian replied cooly. "If that's what you want. But I want something in return." He muttered turning to me.

"You're not taking her again." Gale growled.

"Relax." Sebastian said as he rolled his eyes. "Thats not what I want." He took a few steps towards me, and I kept still.

There was a whole room of people that would stop him from kidnapping me again.

"I want your forgiveness." He said. His words made me freeze. I could not come up with a response as he lifted his hand to shake mine, as if to "shake on it".

I looked down at his hand reluctantly. What if he had soaked his hand in sage or something. "You have my word that there is nothing on my hands." He looked up at my brother. "And I don't think it would be the best idea for me to pull something when there is a demon fully willing to rip my head off."

I looked between his hand and at him for a moment before shaking his hand that was, as promised, not soaked with anything.

"You're forgiven." I said. I decided that I had bigger problems to deal with that weren't a demon hunter that regrets kidnapping me.

Knox shifted slightly and I flinched, quickly putting up my guard. "I'm assuming we only have a short period of time before he wakes up?" Sebastian asked.

I nodded as Cameron grabbed a needle that contained concentrated thyme and inserted it into Knox to keep him unconscious.
