I walked through the school, getting ready to go home with Jake.

''You sure you can't come over?'' Jake pouted.

''Yeah, mom needs my help with something, but tell Jenny I miss her and I'll see you at the game.''

''Alright. Love you.''

''Love you too.'' I gave him a kiss and we went our different directions.

"Hales!" i called out.

She was walking away from Nathan, smiling she started to walk with me away from the school.

''Nathan asked if I was going to the game...''

''Are you?'' I asked.

''I don't know, but he said he'd be looking for me...''

''I don't know if Nathan actually likes you, but if he does, be careful. I would hate to hurt him for hurting you.'' I smiled.

''I will.''

''You ready for the game?'' I asked Luke.

We were sitting on his bed talking.

''Yeah, I don't know.''

As I went to say something mom came in looking nervous.

''Okay. What does this dress say to you?'' Mom looked at us.

''Uh... beware of crazy ladies who talk to dresses.'' Luke laughed, causing me to elbow him.

''No, come on. Really. I need your help. Single and successful or married to her work?'' She held up both dresses.

''Is this for that Justice League thing?'' I tilted my head.

''Small business league. And yes. It's one of the few times a year I get to dress up and I'd like to look nice.''

''Well, is Keith your date?'' Luke wondered, I wondered that as well.

''He's not a date. We're just going together. Why would you say that?''

''Well you guys hang out a lot, and get along well.... Why can't it be a date?'' I whined.

Lucas patted my head.

''Yeah, well I get along with the guy who delivers our water. That doesn't mean I'm gonna date him.''

''The guy who delivers water isn't Keith.'' Luke stated.

''Where is this coming from?'' She asked us.

''Well, you know I've been thinking, you know, that you're not exactly old, Mom.'' Luke sighed.

''Thanks... I think.''

''Plus you and Keith would be the perfect couple....'' I grinned.

''I'm just saying that we'd be all right with it, you know... if that's what you're worried about.'' Luke pointed at himself and I.
