"Hello!" I call, walking into Brooke's with Kam.
"Got kicked out of tryouts too?" Quinn questions with a raised brow.
"Kayson and Jamie didn't like how enthusiastic we are."I shrug with a smile.
"Merida and Keith loves it though. But was outvoted by all the men to have us stick around." Kameron chuckled.
Today was try outs for little league baseball, Kayson, Jamie and Keith were all trying out, Merida was trying out for cheer."All right, I'm headed out. I told Nathanl, Mikey and Clay I'd help coach Little League." Julian beams, excitement on his face.
"You're gonna help coach?"Brooke raises a brow at her husband."Just because my area of expertise is more in the butterfly-catching aspect of the game does not mean I will not be an asset. I'll give them a pep talk during intermission."
"Intermission?" I shook my head in a no fashion."Halftime?"
"Seventh-inning stretch?" Brooks tries to comfort, making Kam shake his head no.
"There's only six innings in Little League." Kameron states with a chuckle.
"Then I got nothing." Brooke shrugs as Quinn's phone rang.
"Hi, Haley. Oh, sorry about that. No, no. Um, I'm actually already on my way, so I'll just. I'll see you soon. Yay! Ohh. Now I got nothing. I'm sorry. Can you finish this by yourself?" Quinn asks as she looks around at us, heading for the door.
"Yes, we will be fine. Just make sure she gets here on time." I state, fixing some balloons up.
"I will. Bye, Julian."
"Innings."Julian repeats with a determined look.
"You got it."
"Yes you do.""Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!" We all scream as Quinn leads Haley through the door.
"Oh, my gosh. What do you guys mean, surprise? It's not like it's my birthday or anything. That too much."
"Yes."
"You told her, didn't you?" I raise a brow at Quinn who nods sheepishly.
"Totally."
"Oh, yay!"
"Okay, one more thing." Broome pulls out a crown for Haley to wear.
"Ooh." Quinn grins as Kameron says, "ahhh pretty."
"Oh, my goodness. I am the queen."
"Okay, is this from your bachelorette party?" Haley giggles at Brooke.
"Reuse, recycle."
"So, when's your big party coming?" Alex looks over at me.
"For what?" I laugh, "my birthday passed already."
"Oh, shut up. You know you're totally getting a ring soon. You lucky bitch."
"No, no, no, I'm not getting a ring." I deny shaking my head, "Quinn has more of a chance at that than me."
"Are you and Clay getting engaged? I need to hear stories. I'm having postpartum wedding blues. Please tell me everything. Quinn? Any news with you and Tom?""All right, let's get this shower officially started. These presents aren't gonna open up themselves." Quinn announces, giving me a smile.
"Nice dodge, ring-getter.""Ooh, thank you..." Lauren smiles over at Brooke.
"Mm-hmm."
"For the champagne and for possibly saving my life."
"Well, I'll drink to that. Cheers."
"Oh, I miss beer." Haley frowns, looking around.
"Get someone to drink it for you. The buzz isn't as good, but the hangover's better." Alex offers with a shrug.
"Okay, chug that beer for me."
"No, have -- have Brooke or Blake do it. They're the expert."Kameron states, taking Haley's eyes off of him.
"What?!"
"Excuse me?!"
LCome on. Oh, Brooke! Blake!"
"Yeah, Blake, chug a beer for me."Haley pours playfully.
"Fine."
I open my beer and tilt it upwards, downing the bottle.
"Way to go B!" Kameron whistles as Quinn pats my back.
"Oh, that looked so refreshing." Haley sighs, licking her lips.
"Hi."
We all look at the girl Brooke leads into the house.
"Blake, Haley, uh, this is, um...this is..."
"I-I'm... I'm Chloe. I-I came by to bring you guys some cookies for your baby shower."
"Thank you. That's really sweet of you. Everybody treats you so nice when you're pregnant. How far along are you?" Haley smiles kindly at the girl.
"Um, about to pop, far along.
"You must be starving. Feel free to have some food. And just, you know, don't eat Haleys ho ho cake." I joke, going to sit with Alex and Quinn as Kameron stiffs his face.
"So, how does it work? Does he just guess what you like, or do you guys talk about it beforehand? I mean, that seems less fun, but then you at least get the ring that you want." Alex rambles as she looks at me.
"Oh, are you getting engaged?" Chloe asks with a smile.
"No, I'm just dating."
"We have a bet on whether or not it's going to be Blake or Quinn here that gets engaged first." Kameron announces taking a seat.
"They're in limbo. They're more than dating but not yet engaged. I am, too limbo." Milli explains with a shrug.
"No, we're not in limbo. I just don't feel the need to rush into anything. I have the twins to consider and with marriage comes Clay becoming a father to them and I just don't think he's ready for that." I explain as Quinn nods.
"And Tommy and I are great right now. We have Jack to think about right now, he starts college next fall and I don't see the rush, unless I was pregnant but..."
As the party progressed I stood up and gave my farewells, "alright I'm out of here. It's our annual movie night and Chuck is coming over with Chase so I have to make sure there's enough Lays or the boys gonna flip."
"Awe alright! Have fun." Haley smiles at me.I walk into my house to see Chase,Chuck, Keithy, Kayson and Clay laying around the livingroom.
"So, what're we watching ?" I ask, sitting down beside Clay and Chase.
"Varsity Blues! Daddy- I mean Clay said we have to close our eyes on the bad parts.." Kayson stumbles over her words as Keith gives a smile.
"Whatever. Stop looking at me Chuck." Kayse snarls as she huffs, lookin at the screen.
"Did you hear that?" Clay whispers in my ear, eyes trained on Kayson.
"Yeah.. I'm sorry. She didn't mean-"
"It's okay. I kind of liked it."
"Really?"
"Yeah I love you so much baby."
"I love you too."
"WHERES THE LAYS CHIPS!"
