"Kam!!!'' I yell from my room, cuddled into my cover.
''I'm right here. How are you a seventeen year old afraid of a storm?'' Kam asked, sitting beside me with some cookies, candy, and grapes.
''I am NOT afraid of storms. I'm afraid of what might happen during them. Like Brooke and Lucas could be giving the twins cousins right now and if i know Haley, she's with Nathan so she may be making me a niece or nephew. my mom's at the cafe with Keith, I've never had to go through a storm without mom or Luke my whole life.''
''Your family depends too much on one another.''
''Har har. Asshole.''
Just as I said that the lights went out.,
''Fucking great. A blackout.'' I scoff.
''At least I thought of lighting candles already.''
''You're my hero K.''
''I know.''
"So, tell me about past storms.'' Kam said, biting into a cookie.
''I remember when Luke and i were about six mom was at the cafe and Keith was watching us. I was asleep when thunder woke me, shaking the house. I yelled and ran down the stairs, colliding into Luke, who was running to me. He wouldn't admit it, but he was as scared as me. We held hands as we jumped on Keith, who was sitting on the couch, knowing we would be there soon. I remember him smiling, and pulling us onto his lap. 'Did the thunder wake you?'' He asked, causing me to nod and Luke to make a face at me. 'No, B yelled like a big cry baby.' I just pouted as my uncle pulled me to him. 'How about we make a fort? It could be like camping.' So we made a fort, he told us stories about him and mom in high school and how it was when we were born. He didn't know this but when he thought Luke and I were asleep i heard him say that he loved us and that one day he'd make mom happy with him.....''
''Wow like a Hallmark movie.'' Kam joked.
''What about you?''
''When I was ten, before I came out, my dad would come in my room with Kasey and hot chocolate. We'd all sit on my bed as mom would soon be up with cookies and join us. We'd just be together. It was nice. I miss it.''
''Wanna hear about the time Brooke pissed herself when it thundered so hard it shook the house at the same time lightening hit?'' I smirked.
''And how old was she?''
''This was last year.''
Kam shook his head as he laughed.
''Peyton?''
Brooke and I lightly touched her arms and the girl threw herself into us.
Ellie, her mom, had died the day after the storm. Peyton found her.
"Its okay honey.'' I whisper as Kam and Luke joined our hug as well.
Who would have thought a night of love and happiness would follow with days of sadness.
Mom and Keith had sex, i know this cause mom was smiling to huge when she came home. Luke and Brooke are okay and Haley and Nate are together, officially again. I just can't help my sorrow for P. Sawyer. the girl has lost so much in her life, Both her moms, Jake.. Luke. But this is going to make her strong, strong enough to stand the storm.
