"Lucas and Peyton hurting Brooke, is causing those poor cheerleaders to go through hell.'' I grimace.

"Glad your leg's broken?'' Jake mocks playfully beside me.

''I am actually. I would have already passed out on the ground by now.''

''Yeah, I could see that.''

''But anyways, I'm getting my cast off tomorrow after school.''

''Want me to come?''

''No, that's okay. You have practice and besides, mom's bringing me.''

"Are you sure?''

''Yeah. I'm positive babe.''

''Fine, but you're coming over for a date tomorrow night.''

''Sounds like a plan Stan.''

I sat on the picnic table at the Rivercourt watching Nathan and Lucas shooting ball.

''If Whitey wants you to feel like you're part of the team, fine, I just, I don't understand why I have to baby-sit you.'' Nathan looks at Luke.

''He just wants to make sure you're going to be able to get open.'' Luke shrugs, passing the ball back.

''I don't have a problem with getting open.''

''Well you will with me out of the line up. Okay? The Fade-away is a great shot for creating space. You want to work on it or what?''

''I don't need to work on it.''

''Okay, show us. Come on.'' I called.

Nathan huffed and shot the ball, only to miss.

''Try it again.'' Lucas states.

''I'll tell you what. I'll hit your fade-away, when you can do this.'' Nathan said, dunking the ball into the net with his right hand.

''Thought so.'' Nathan gave him a look.

''Nathan, the point is you're not going to be able to do that.'' Luke groaned.

"Excuse me?''

''You're not going to be able to get to the rack like that.'' Luke said.

''You'll be double teamed.'' I yelled over to him.

''You know what? I don't need your coaching.Just watch me get to the rack this weekend.'' Nathen sneered.

''You two act so much a like, its unreal.'' I shook my head.

''Don't insult me like that.'' Luke looked at me.

''Shut up.'' I laughed.

I hop out of my car with mom and Luke. Mom has become a chaperone for the Classics game. Whitey's allowing me to go with the cheerleaders because, though I can't cheer, I'm one hell of a motivator and I can keep the Scott boys from killing each other.
