09||WAY DOWN WE GO

"Nobody is normal.. People try, But were all monsters and were all crazy. Some of us simply don't know it yet, and some of us just try to hide it."

"I'm not a cigarette that you'll smoke and crush. I'm a drug baby, You'll beg for me."

SAVE WILLOW.

This was the only thing going through Ataraxia Blake's mind as she took the life of Aiyden hale. His death was quick. Brutal. but quick. The canon fired. He's dead. Willow stared at her; shock written across her features. They were the only two left.

Ataraxia killed Aiyden. She smashed his head in with her nailed bat. He now lays on the floor, lifeless, bloody, and unmoving.

One of them would have to kill the other. It was simply a matter of determination.

Was either of them determined enough to kill their own friend, just so that they could live?

yes.

The answer was always. Yes.

A loud beeping sound fills the air as Willow's receiving a sponsor.

Ataraxia's eyes remain trained on Willow as she opens the large package.

She pulls out a weapon.

A Trident.

"What the fuck" Ataraxia spoke.

Willow's facial expression changes from a frightened, fragile young girl to deadly, killer in a matter of seconds. She held the trident out towards Ataraxia. "I can do this" Willow muttered. "I've made it this far; I can still win. I can go home. To my family. I can bring pride to my district. I can do this. I will do this." She spoke.

Willow sliced the trident through Ataraxia's stomach, it made a long gash across her belly, but it didn't go to deep. "You don't even know how to fucking use that thing" Ataraxia said as Willow continued with her speech.

Finnick examined the screen. A deep look of concern, hatred and worry flashing over his features as he watched Willow slice into Ataraxia's stomach. He watched as Ataraxia carefully pulled the baseball bat up from the ground while Willow was distracted giving her speech.

"You've got this" He whispered. "Just breath."

Before Ataraxia knew what she was doing, she slammed the bat hard into Willows hipbone. She sucked in a breath through her teeth. "Oh- that's got to hurt" she says, clicking her tongue as Willow cried out in pain and fell to the floor.

"Please. Come on Rox, you know me. Don't do this. Let me win, who do you have to go back for anyways?!" Willow pleaded, immensely trying to get Ataraxia to spare her life.

"Trust me, you revoked any right to say that to me, the second you stabbed me with that trident." Ataraxia's eyes filled with hate, she laughed darkly.

This was that moment.

The moment when a tribute became a victor.

That essential moment, of Fight or flight.

One choice.

Simple.

Life or death.

Tears brimmed the corners of Ataraxia's eyes as she hesitated, glancing down at the hopeless girl in front of her.

In that short moment of weakness, the price came.

In a flash, Willow's dagger was pressed against her ankle, and she was sliding the cold metal blade over her now open flesh. Ataraxia yelped in pain and gripped the bat tighter.

"Fuck this." She muttered, any sympathy she had for the girl disappearing in an instant.

I choose life.

The entire thing seemed to happen in slow motion, Ataraxia brought the bat down onto Willows body, over and over again until she was a bloody mess, almost unrecognizable. The final canon sounded and Roxi turned around, forgetting she was in a house of mirrors.

She stared at the person in the mirror.

This was not Ataraxia Blake from district four.

This was Ataraxia Blake from The Hunger Games.

She was covered in blood, and guts. From head to toe. At this point, Ataraxia wasn't even sure how much was hers, and how much was Willows, or Aiyden's.

She couldn't even recognize herself. The dark look in her eyes. She was no longer the same. Ataraxia Blake, would never be the same.
