CALISTA

TODAY HAS been a chill day. We all woke up pretty late and had a brunch, made again by Zane and I who are now on better terms after last night.

I'm honestly still in shock.

He keeps telling me off for looking at him for too long with pity. It's not just pity I feel for him, I just feel so guilty that I've been acting how I have when he's been through so much. But at the same time, my feelings really did get hurt and I can't be too hard on myself because I just didn't know.

"We made up." I tell the girls as I change into a black plunge-neck swimsuit.

"Oh, when." Morgan asks.

"Last night, we ran into each other downstairs and we talked it through." I explain briefly, not letting any personal details slip through.

"That's good. So are you guys like..." Kelsey trails off and I roll my eyes.

"That's ship sailed a long time ago Kels, we're friends only." I insists, pulling my hair down from its ponytail.

"Mhm, until he sees you in that swimsuit." Morgan smirks, looking me up and down.

"Hey! There's nothing wrong with this swimsuit."

Kelsey snorts, "Babe we aren't saying there's anything wrong with it. Well that depends if you intend in being friendsor not." She explains and I nod.

"Yeah yeah shut it." I tell her and they both smile at me innocently.

When we get down to the pool the guys are already in there, playing a game with a ball that quickly gets abandoned as they greet us.

"Hey guys." Jason greets and Kelsey out of nowhere run and fully jumps into the pool.

"Hey." Morgan and I greet, placing our towels down on the seating beside the pool.

My eyes instantly meet his and my breath hitches. The pool has a deeper end and a shallower and and Zane's stood so that I can see his very sculpted chest very clearly in the shallow water, where i can see water droplets that highlight his tattoos and the crevices of his muscles and I am getting distracted.

I manage to tear my eyes off of him before I'm caught and I sit down on the sun bed.

"You coming in?" I hear Zane ask me and I shake my head.

"I will but I need to read my book first."

"You need to." He repeats and I nod.

"Reading isn't a hobby Zane, it's a lifestyle." I tell him to end the conversation before pulling out my book and relaxing into the bed.

I pay half attention to the words on the page and half to Zane as they play a ball game.

After a while I feel water dripping on my leg and I look up to find Zane stood above me.
