I SIT at the dinner table, scrolling on my phone and pretending not to watch my sister. I don't want her to feel any pressure while she's eating.
We're going for small snacks today, so she's got carrots and hummus. There's a random tv show on in the background and I can see her watching it as she starts eating the carrots without even noticing.
Baby steps.
I can't stop my thoughts from drifting to Calista. When I went to meet Mikey last Friday I didn't expect to see her there. She looked like she had been crying and I Mikey later explained that Wyatt had left her there and taken her car home.
What a fucking ass.
When she ran into me earlier in the night, she looked like she was in a huge rush and her hair was down for once.
I liked it down, she has very nice hair.
I'm wasn't sure if I was seeing things or if it was just dark but I swear I saw a bruise on her face. And judging by her reaction when she caught me looking at her, I think I was right.
The thought of him laying a single finger on her makes my stomach turn.
I want to ask but I don't want to upset her.
Screw upsetting her, I can't leave it if she's being fucking abused.
The whole drive home she looked very nervous and when she got out of my car and started walking, she was so hesitant. She was scared of something, and it doesn't take a fucking genius to guess what.
"Why do you look like you want to kill someone?" My sister voice snaps me out of my violent thoughts.
"Cause I do." I admit and she nods.
"Okay."
A smile breaks out on my face. "I'm fine Ames, just this one dickhead is getting on my nerves."
"Beat him up then." She tells me.
"Oh I already have." I brag and she gasps.
"I was joking!"
"Me too." I lie.
I haven't exactly told my mum or my sister about my 'hobby'. They know I like to box so they just assume I do that, which isn't a lie it's just not the whole truth.
Friday comes around quicker than expected and even though I'm not fighting this week Mikey is, so I'm going to watch.
I find a spot in the corner, a place to lean against the wall while the first fight of the night starts. I spot a familiar head of copper hair walking down the corridor and I don't even realise that I'm following her at first.
She turns to go to the bathrooms so I wait outside like a fucking creep.
