CALISTA

SHIT

SHIT. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit.

I sit in up Zane's bed, noting the fact that I'm only wearing a t-shirt, his t-shirt. I run my hand through my terribly knotted hair and glance at Zane next to me.

He's still alseep. Yeah, I'm leaving while I can.

I silently walk towards the door and just as I grip the handle I hear Zane, I freeze like a deer in headlights.

"Where are you going?" Zane says, his voice still thick with sleep and I silently curse, turning around slowly to face him.

Zane is sat up, shirtless with the covers around his waist, exposing his whole chest.

"Uh." I stall while I search for an acceptable excuse.

"To my room?" It comes out more like a question than an answer.

"Come here." Okay.

Literally how can I say no?

I walk the short distance back over to him and he instructs me yet again, "Sit."

"I'm not a dog." I tell him but comply anyway and he watches me with a slight smile.

"Could've fooled me."

I gasp, "That's horrible."

"You're so obedient." He points out, ignoring my complaints and he mutters something else to himself, something quieter.

I blush at the insuniation and distract myself by looking at the bed.

"Look at me." I refuse the instruction because that would only further prove his point even though my instinct is to follow every word he says.

God I'm pathetic.

At least I'm self-aware.

"We're friends right?" I ask him.

"Yeah." He agrees.

"Last night wasn't very friendly." I point out, looking up at him as he watches me with his head tilted.

"Depends on your definition of friendly."

I send him a pointed look. "Oh so you do that with all of your female friends?"

"You're my only female friend. So technically yeah."

I roll my eyes. "You don't have to be such a smart ass."

"I know." He nods.

"So we agree last night was just a lapse of judgement." I offer.

"No." He replies.

"No?" I question in surprise. "You don't think it was a mistake."

"No. I would do it again." Zane tells me honestly and I honestly want to crawl into a hole and die.
