Jisoo was in the midst of a discussion with Irene, her eyes focused on the documents her sister had just handed her, when a knock sounded at her office door.
"Please come in." Jisoo called, not looking up from her work.
The door opened, and Jennie entered with a bright smile, holding a box in her hands. "Hi, Chu!" she greeted cheerfully.
Jisoo immediately looked up, hearing the voice of her wife, "Jendeuk!" she quickly got up to took the box from her wife's hand, placing in on the table. She peck Jennie's lips and kissed her cheek. "You're here!"
"Were you busy? I wanted to surprise you." Jennie said, her eyes twinkling with anticipation.
"Aww, really? What is this?" Jisoo reached out to open the box, but Jennie quickly stopped her.
"No! Not yet. You’ll see it later," Jennie teased, holding the box just out of reach.
"Whyyyy... I want to know now!" the older pouted, stomping her foot like a child eager for a peek inside.
Jennie leaned in with a playful smirk and silenced her with a quick peck on the lips. "Patience, Chu. You’ll find out soon enough."
A pointed cough interrupted their moment. "Ehem!" Irene cleared her throat, drawing the couple’s attention.
"Unnie! You're here too." Jennie exclaimed, suddenly noticing Irene, and moved to give her a hug.
Irene chuckled, returning the embrace. "Well, I’ve been here the whole time. But I guess the lovebirds were too wrapped up in each other to notice my existence." she said jokingly.
Jisoo rolled her eyes. "Stop being so dramatic, unnie. Get married too then, so your wife can also come and surprise you."
"Shut up!" Irene huffed. "It's almost lunchtime anyways, so I'll head out. You two enjoy your lovey-dovey time."
"Have a good lunch, unnie," Jennie said with a sweet smile.
"She will." Jisoo added, pulling Jennie close and kissing the top of her head.
Irene shot her sister a sideways glance. "Yes, I will. Enjoy your date, you two," she said, waving them off as she headed out.
Once Irene left, Jisoo immediately pulled Jennie into a bear hug, burying her face in the younger woman's shoulder. "I miss you," she mumbled softly.
Jennie chuckled, hugging her back. "It's only been five hours, Chu."
"Too long." Jisoo pouted, looking up at her. "Don’t you miss me?"
Jennie pulled back slightly, meeting Jisoo's eyes. "Of course I do. That’s why I’m here, dumbass."
"Right, I’m dumb," Jisoo teased. "So, care to tell me why you're really here? And what's in the box? You don’t usually come to my office unless it’s something important." She asked since the younger doesn't to come to her workplace that much.
It's because her wife is the CEO. Her presence always drew attention; everyone recognized her the moment she walked in, and it felt kind of weird and awkward for her. She also didn't want to appear as the clingy ass wife, who would come to her wife's workplace every day-- ew no!
Okay, maybe she would love to do that. But she was Jennie Kim, and she had a reputation to maintain. She couldn’t let people know that she was the clingy type! Their friends already teased her enough about it.
Can they blame her, though? Her wife was literally Kim Jisoo. Like, who could possibly resist clinging to her all day? Certainly not Jennie Kim. Think about it, she shouldn't have cared about the gossip at all. Even if she ended up being labeled the most clingy person ever, it didn’t matter. It's not like they could ever relate to her anyways. (💅)
