Making rainbows for Iris Messages weren't always easy. It all depends on what faucet you use and where the light is.
Jordan's bathroom was not an easy place to do it. The light was a crappy 8 volt lightbulb and there weren't any windows. So I had to use my flashlight. The water was from the shower head on a normal spray that I had to put on for ten minutes before the rainbow formed.
I quickly tossed the drachma into the water and said the incantation. "O goddess, please accept my offering. Show me Will Solace in Camp Half-Blood." The rainbow got clearer and more pronounced. The colours defined and formed. The two were in Cabin Thirteen by the looks of it. They were lying in bed, the Cocoa Puffs in a pile around them. I smiled at the hint of golden fur at the edge of the bed.
"Hey guys," I greeted.
Will sat up, the feline Cocoa Puff falling onto the antlered one. "Liz?" He exclaimed.
Nico groaned. "Why?"
I chuckled. "Missed you too Neeks."
He sat up and glared at the rainbow. "You. Sleep. Why?"
I laughed again. "Well I wanted to fill you guys in," I explained. "I can call back-"
"No, no, you're good," Will interrupted. "Rue, look, it's your mamma."
My pup raised her head from the mess of inky demons. I saw her look around the cabin, her ears tilted in confusion. She had grown a little, her hair growing out in the week I had been gone.
"Rue, hi girly," I said. She looked at me and I saw when she noticed me. Her ears went against her head, her mouth opened and her tail started moving in the Puff Pile. The tusked Cocoa Puff nudged her away. "I know, I miss you too baby. I'll be home soon."
"Will you?" Will asked.
I sighed. "Honestly guys, I don't know. Things are... more complicated than I thought. Or even expected. I'm gonna be sticking around here, just for a few days."
"How's your brother?" Will questioned. "Is he still in jail?"
"Is he still dead?" Nico added.
"New development on that one," I said. "Nico, have you ever heard of a hellhound possessing someone?"
Nico furrowed his brows, suddenly awake. "That doesn't happen. Hellhounds are basically just large, dangerous dogs."
"Right. What about fire? Anything like that?"
Nico placed his hand on the wolf pawed demon. "A little bit. I mean, Cerberus is known as the protector of the Underworld... Liz, what's going on?"
"What does this have to do with your brother?" Will piled on.
I sighed and ran a hand through my hair. I knew I could tell them. I knew I could tell them anything and everything. I knew then that I would. I had to. For my own sanity. I just... needed more time to figure things out.
"Liz... do you think your brother is possessed by a hellhound?" Nico asked.
I sighed. Of course he figured it out. He knew me, knew my tactics. It wasn't like he was stupid either. He had to be one of the smartest people outside of my siblings. "I honestly don't know guys. Things here are... different. I don't understand it." I felt my fingers tap against my earring. The one with the golden eyes.
"Do you need us there?" Will asked, concerned.
"No, yes, I don't know." I sat down on Jordan's toilet. "I feel like I should stay but I have no idea what to do or how to help. I really miss you guys. I miss home."
