CHRISTOPHER | New Beginnings
Christopher Brown
"Oh, I didn't expect to see you so soon," Dr. Gordon said as she let Christopher into her home.
She closed the door behind him and guided him to her living room. He kept his hands in his hoodie and a depressed expression on his face. He ended up calling her at a payphone once he left the courthouse yesterday and getting her address. He stayed at a hotel the night before and woke up early this moment hoping to see his son but it did not go well.
"Have a seat here," she told him.
He sat down on one of her living room chairs and took a moment to look around her home. It was a nice one story home that was very homey. It reminded him so much of his mother's home in the early 2000s. He frowned at the thought of her as Dr. Gordon sat a glass of water on the table in front of him. She took a seat across from him and took in his appearance.
"What's going on Chris," she said calling him his nickname. Surprisingly that didn't bother him like it used to. He looked at her with red eyes and bags under them.
"I just left from trying to see, trying to see my son but she didn't want to be bothered with me," he started.
"Well, how did you approach her?"
"I asked her if we could talk but her family was over there and they were raising hell. They didn't even let her get one word out,"
Dr. Gordon took in what he said, folding her hands together. She thought about what she was going to say next.
"What were you intentions going over there Chris? Honestly," she asked.
"I wanted to see her and my son," he repeated.
"Why did you want to see her?"
"Because she is the mother of my child,"
"Is that the real reason?"
He sighed adjusting his position looking up at her. She saw right through him.
"You need to leave her alone Christopher and keep the communications strictly to regards of your son. You are extremely lucky, you have been given another chance at life and I don't know all the details of everything that transpired between yall and I don't want to know but I do know that you have been given another chance and a fresh start. You don't have to go back to living how you once did. Be a better man for yourself and for your son," Dr. Gordon said to him.
