CHRISTOPHER | Get Back
Sa'hora Santiago
Sa'hora sat in a chair with her head against the wall slowly dosing off. She soon opened her eyes at the sound of the machines beeping. The sound was stuck in her head as it was the only thing she has heard all week.
Kenzo had to be airlifted to the nearest children's hospital which was two hours away. He was currently in the ICU in a medical induced coma on life support.
His survival was still uncertain. His hospital room was surrounded with stuffed animals, balloons and toys from all over. His case had made headlines and detectives had been by to question Sa'hora a few times.
She hadn't heard from Christopher in over a week since he left the other hospital. She was worried about him. She knew he was hurting. Kenzo was clinging to life and Dr. Gordon was gone.
She worried about where he was staying. Dr. Gordon's home was still taped off and an active crime scene. She had texted him updates about Kenzo but never got a response. They stayed on delivered as if he never read them.
She was worried about him but Kenzo was her main concern. Learning the details of what happened to him made her stomach turn and her heart was heavy at the fact that he indured such things.
Besides his neck being severed, he had blunt force trauma to the head and one of his legs were fractured as if he was dropped or fell from high up. She couldn't believe someone would do that to a helpless baby.
She found her self blaming Christopher at one point, If she hadn't gone with him, if she hadn't let Dr. Gordon keep him, this wouldn't have happened. But she soon came to the realization that it was wrong of her to blame him. It was no one's fault except the ones who committed the crime.
It was all too much for her to bare. She could never catch a break. She knew it was too good to be true.
Police had no breaks to the case and everyone was in mass hysteria at the fact that theere was a home invader on the loose. No one was safe.
Her phone vibrated and she saw a text message from Xaiver.
X: Hey ma, it's been a minute since we spoke. I saw the news and wanted to send my condolences. I hope little man pull through 🤞🏽❤️
She just responded a simple 'thank you' before locking her phone. She stood up and walked to Kenzo's bed side and began to tear up at his face. There were breathing tubes down his throat and his light brown skin that was once full of life was dull and lifeless.
